  1. I'm trying to put together a challenge in which we have to play a multiplayer game at a certain set minimal speed. How do I essentially remove the "very slow" setting or change it?
  2. An escort carrier full of Y-wings is usually enough to break through one gencore. Did you assign an admiral?
  3. Star Wars Rebellion has a lot of keyboard shortcuts which make things faster and easier. After an introduction with a list of all the keyboard commands that are used on the bridge, I show my gaming mouse configuration. I then show my automatic mission macro and how it works. I close the video by giving a brief summary of the most important keyboard shortcuts for Star Wars Rebellion. Shortcuts for the bridge F1 Options F2 Search for a system F3 Search for a fleet/ship F4 Search for a troop F5 Search for a character F6 Message index F7 Encyclopedia Page Up or Page Down Makes the liste go up or down Ctrl + Tab changes window arrow keys browse (Messages, Encyclopedia, ...) 4. It's on Steam as well.
  5. #zoners on irc.netgamers.org > you may find somebody that will play there, i won't promise anything, just idle for a few weeks and we'll get suspicious of your skill and ask what we can do to make you go away voluntarily, if it's to play the dreaded Rebellion multiplayer then so be it jedi, but be warned we are very good and likely to be accused of cheating by nubs Is this still a thing? I didn't find anyone on there.
  6. Have a look: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeMvsQAY7NbsbGivD7xO2Pw
  7. baron2100@msn.com I started playing again just recently. I prefer the 1.00 US version of the game, because it is stable, and does not crash (unlike 1.01).
  8. We can even make a personal bet. You were my nemesis on IGL back in the day, and I'm calling you out. PM me if you ever read this.
  9. Good catch. Someone should write a tutorial for this program. It is a little different.
  10. Its not even listed in the support section. Where did it go? SWR really did not get the credit it deserved. This game is one of the most interesting, in depth, and very addicting multiplayer strategy games I've played. You guys still do play multiplayer, don't you? I just got it back up and running, of course.
  11. In multiplayer you don't let your opponent even get to that point, playing as Imperials.
  12. I voted 2003-2005 cause of SWG.
  13. Haven't really decided yet. This may be it, for now.
  14. Yes, got it done just recently. I took the picture on the same day it was done.

  16. Not really. Typically games get resolves within 3-5 hours. When its blatantly obvious who the victor is/will be, the other player typically forfeits. No need to chase Luke around the galaxy when the other player has no planets nor infrastructure left, etc.
  17. Rebellion works rather well on GameSpy Arcade (version 1.00 at least). Why don't more people play? There is a ladder system for Rebellion at: http://arena.gamespy.com/ladder/40054 Join it, then challenge away. I am [Guard]Samodelkin, a GameSpy Ladder Administrator and a long time fan of Star Wars Rebellion. I petitioned to have Rebellion added to the ladder, and granted better GameSpy Arcade support. Now, how about we see more matches? Its a very fun multiplayer game, every match is completely different and unique.

  19. You don't need "Hamachi" to play. Just make sure these ports are unblocked both on your software firewall, and on your DSL/Cable Modem/Router. This is directly from LucasArts support: The information on the specific ports required to play multiplayer DirectPlay games, such as Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds, can be found at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;240429 Firewall software is designed to prevent hostile action from outside your computer or network from affecting files on your hard drive. Internet gaming activity can seem like such action to this type of software. You may encounter problems trying to connect to a multiplayer game if your computer is behind a firewall. Please refer to your firewall documentation for suggestions on how to allow specific programs to operate through it if you do not intend to temporarily take it down, or ask your network/system administrator for assistance. In addition, many routers designed to share one Internet connection among more than one computer have firewalls built into them. Most routers require specific Internet ports to be opened before multiplayer games will function correctly. Please consult your router manufacturer's manual for information on how to set these ports.
  20. One player showed up, and the Admin, of course. Maybe next time?
  21. The admin will make sure Europeans are matched with Europeans. Something will be worked out.
  22. For optimal performance and stability, you'll want to use version 1.00 of Star Wars Rebellion with GameSpy Arcade. If you currently have version 1.01 of SWR do a fresh installation. When you enter the Star Wars Rebellion Lobby it will prompt you to install version 1.01. Simply select "No Thanks" then proceed to the lobby. If you are behind a firewall/proxy and are able to change its settings, Arcade needs the following TCP ports open in order to function: 6667 (IRC) 3783 (Voice Chat Port) 27900 (Master Server UDP Heartbeat) 28900 (Master Server List Request) 29900 (GP Connection Manager) 29901 (GP Search Manager) 13139 (Custom UDP Pings) 6515 (Dplay UDP) 6500 (Query Port) Star Wars Rebellion uses the following Ports: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;240429 The following TCP and UDP ports must be open on the firewall or proxy server: Using DirectX 7 or an earlier version Connection Ports for Client Configuration Ports for Host Configuration Initial TCP Connection 47624 Outbound 47624 Inbound Subsequent TCP Inbound 2300-2400 2300-2400 Subsequent TCP Outbound 2300-2400 2300-2400 Subsequent UDP Inbound 2300-2400 2300-2400 Subsequent UDP Outbound 2300-2400 2300-2400 Using DirectX 8 or a later version Connection Ports for Client Configuration Ports for Host Configuration Initial UDP Connection 6073 Outbound 6073 Inbound Subsequent UDP Inbound 2302-2400 2302-2400 Subsequent UDP Outbound 2302-2400 2302-2400 To determine the DirectPlay method for games that use the DirectPlay Lobby service, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, click Run, type dxdiag in the Open box, and then click OK. 2. Click the Save All Information button to save a Dxdiag.txt report. 3. Click Desktop, and then click Save. 4. Open the DxDiag.txt file on your desktop and find the section marked "DirectPlay Lobbyable Apps". Note that each game listed here will report either "(DX7)" or "(DX8)" which corresponds to its DirectPlay connection method. Note DirectPlay8 games can work with the Internet Connection Firewall (ICF) capabilities of Microsoft Windows XP. When the game starts to host, enumerate, or connect, the appropriate ports will automatically open and when the game quits, these ports will automatically close. Additionally, Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me) Internet Connection Sharing, Windows XP Internet Connection Sharing, and UPnP-compliant NATs cooperate with DirectPlay8 to make it possible to run full-featured, DirectPlay8 sessions through the NAT. Users can host or join DirectPlay8 sessions that are hosted inside or outside the NAT. No special configuration is required. If you are using UPnP compliant network devices and are having difficulty, verify the following: • When you use Windows XP, make sure that you log on as an administrator. • If you use a hardware NAT, contact the manufacturer to see if the hardware is UPnP-compliant or if there are any updates for it, if it is not. • When you use Windows XP Internet Connection Sharing, make sure that the Allow other network users to control or disable the shared Internet connection and the Protect my computer and network by limiting or preventing access to this computer from the Internet check boxes are selected in the shared network device's properties. • A client on a Windows Millennium Edition (Me) Internet Connection Sharing computer must join the session before any client behind the NAT joins the session or else the Internet Connection Sharing computer cannot join.
