  1. For distribution, we are using Subversion (SVN) - a version control system. This will allow quick turnaround between our developers and testers. No long waits of file transfers, no wondering whether someone has received a change. It is all included... our SVN repository will contain the exact files that will go out to release. The easiest way to use Subversion is through TortoiseSVN - a client for Windows http://tortoisesvn.net/downloads 1) Please download and install TortoiseSVN 2) Next, navigate to your Mods-Rebellion v1.0XX folder (located in ...Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion) 3) Right-click the folder and select "SVN Checkout" (NOTE: You will need to do this six times in order to add in all the folders of the mod) 4) Set URL of repository: svn://swrebellion.com/warlords/SINS/SoGE Beta Reb - CORE and the checkout directory name Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\Mods-Rebellion v1.0XX\SoGE Beta Reb - CORE (See http://www.swrebellion.com/evaders99/sins-svn.gifimage for an example[/img]) (NOTE: This must also be done for the following folders: "SoGE Beta Reb - Alliance" "SoGE Beta Reb - CIS" "SoGE Beta Reb - New Republic" "SoGE Beta Reb - Republic" and "SoGE Beta Reb - Vong") 5) Click Ok and let it download. The CORE module is rather large, well over 1 GB. Slow connections be warned! It is known that at times the download will abort while downloading. If this occurs, run SVN Checkout again, and do not delete the folder you already have, overwrite it instead. 6) You should now have a full directory with a green checkmark 7) To activate the mod, open the EnabledMods.txt file present in the Mods-Rebellion v1.0XXfolder and edit in the mod like so (this includes all races, like file included in this rar; make sure to leave a blank space at the bottom of the txt file): TXT Version 0 enabledModNameCount 6 enabledModName "SoGE Beta Reb - Alliance" enabledModName "SoGE Beta Reb - CIS" enabledModName "SoGE Beta Reb - New Republic" enabledModName "SoGE Beta Reb - Republic" enabledModName "SoGE Beta Reb - Vong" enabledModName "SoGE Beta Reb - CORE" In order to reduce RAM, it's recommend to remove the modules/mini-mods that you aren't using, and update the enabledModNameCount accordingly. For example, if you're playing a game with the Empire, Alliance, and New Republic, you don't need to load up the CIS', Republic's, Vong's assets. It doesn't matter what order you load the mods in, as long as the CORE is on the bottom of the list. To update: Just right-click the six directories and select "SVN Update". Please do that before any game you start, to pick up the latest changes. That's it. There are still discussions needed research, abilities, etc... but if you notice other bugs, please report them. Let me know here if you have any questions. EDIT: New instructions via Lavo, thanks http://www.swrebellion.com/evaders99/sins-svn.gif
  2. Entrenchment 1.03 - possibly 1.04 if Eville confirms that it works EDIT: pretty sure its going to require 1.04
  3. Mmm pancakes Think: someone used to do that by hand.
  4. Woo awesome. Might want to put in an open issues for any features (abilities, research) that are not yet complete, so others don't start reporting those
  5. Kayne and Death Note LOL (may only make sense if you've watched the Death Note anime ending)
  6. On MMOs: From what I hear, Eve Online is a lot of grinding (though you could say any MMO is the same, they want you to get addicted). I am interested in Jumpgate Evolution - seems to be focused more on the combat. Also looking into Aion - which is another Korean MMORPG in the vein of Lineage II. The graphics look amazing http://www.aiononline.com/ I don't know whether I want to suck a $15 monthly subscription into it though. Of course, SW:TOR (The Old Republic) from Bioware looks really exciting. I really hope the rumors are true and they go with a micro-transactions to fund the game. But I'm pretty sure they will stick with a standard subscription model SW:TOR is the one I'll suck money into if given 1 choice. ----------- I don't really play much online otherwise. I hope Starcraft 2 ends up being good, but I play more for the single-player story than any kind of competitive multiplayer. Starcraft 1 is still fun for the occasional LAN party.
  7. Generally we don't support transferring any files of the game itself. As you've given contact info, I am going to close this thread and let people reply to you directly.
  8. Considering Microsoft is a software company making $60 Billion... I'm not surprised their compiler is better. They get tons of money and support from software developers, so they need to have a highly optimized compiler.
  9. Start here: http://warlords.swrebellion.com/wp/?p=9 Ask if you have specific questions from there
  10. I think it's still a work-in-progress
  11. You can send me a design.. Photoshop, whatever. I'll be happy to implement it
  12. Former Lucasarts guys talk about the classic games - some Star Wars and the adventure games too
  13. Why not 0.60?
  14. If its the look... you can change it. Give me design and I can work on implementing it. If its the code... what do you want? I am open to it. This is basically a prebuilt system to get you going, so you can focus on your work. You have to generate the content.
  15. It's ... err... space and stuff Did you create the light effects yourself?
  16. Yea another first person shooter, Star Wars style. Check it out on the BlackMonkeys site (German site)
  17. May need to play with some of your video settings, turn down things, etc. If nothing else, an older video driver may be useful for older cards. Homeworld 2 was optimized for cards during that generation, who knows whether newer drivers are tested on older games (I doubt it)
  18. Jumpgate Evolution Mmmm. I like. I'm not really attracted to MMOs, but this seems to be more in the vein of Freelancer than Eve Online. Space is very colorful, lots of ships... hoping the combat is really good. It looks pretty polished, but I have to try it and see
  19. That's a huge Recycle Bin - lol
  20. It's a stub template. You are free to come up with a new design for your site. The ad is there to offset some of the costs of the server. Since it is truly our dedicated server (not any kind of shared server), we can be flexible to your needs.
  21. Woohoo! C&C 4: Tiberian Twilight Screw Tiberium Wars (which while fun, did not keep the naming convention going with Tiberian Dawn, Sun, ... Twilight was obviously the next expected release!) I admit, I did submit Tiberian Twilight as probably many others had done. I'm glad they actually listened to their fans.

    Hey Everyone!

Neither mod has a campaign, as it is quite a lot of work to develop. As for the games themselves, Homeworld 2 has a decent campaign. I really recommend it (and heck, Homeworld 1 for that matter)... excellent storytelling. Sins of a Solar Empire sadly has no campaign.
  23. This is the first test post for the Empire At War System group
  24. A lot of news has come by... esp from GC 2009 IGN (and probably many other sites) have a full video walkthrough showing ingame content. It's pretty much KOTOR x1000 http://pc.ign.com/objects/816/816935.html
  25. Sweet, I am definitely a fan of his music
