Yes, the Death Star can be used in tactical combat to destroy enemy capital ships. It's a feature that has always been a part of the game. The only downside is the recharge rate of the superlaser and its vulnerability to fighters.

I love a good RTS. Tests your strategy under a controlled-time environment... always a lot of thought involved as you know the enemy could be coming for you at any moment. I love the classics: Starcraft - Protoss: Power Overwhelming! Homeworld - ships, space... awesome graphics and storyline. Plus the Star Wars mod makes it all the better. Age of Empires: the whole series is amazing. Granted, Age of Mythology didn't fill me that much, its still a fun game. Warcraft: ditto the AOE series. I love it.. great improvements to storyline, though I hate playing WC3 multiplayer. Its all "rush-rush" and no strategy anymore.

Turning a system that's loyal to its side probably 70%+ is pretty hard. You will need several characters with good leadership and tons of Guerillas/Commandos. The easiest trick (in the early game) is to find systems that are loyal to you but controlled by your enemy. Gather your forces and blockade the planet, sent your best saboteurs and decoys and destroy their troops. Likely, you'll get the planet with all its facilities as well as the rest of the sector that isn't wholely on your opponents side. This opens up your enemies planets to another sabotage attack. By the time this is all over, you should retain whole control of the sector with easily 90%+ loyalty across the systems. In the late game, it is harder to turn enemy systems.. nearly impossible enemy strongholds. But if you have the extra guys with leadership and tons of Guerillas/Commandos, go for it. It'll be good to slip in and steal the system's resources, gaining further maintainence to fill your forces.

Unzipped?? The cards here aren't in a zipped format. If you have a file with a *.r?c extension, that's the correct file. All you have to do is find the unit you want to replace in RebED (a main character perhaps) and go to Load Card. Find the card you want to replace and load it. .rcc - RebED character card .rsc - RebED starship card .rfc - RebED fighter card .rtc - RebED troop card .rxc - RebED SpecForce card .rdc - RebED defense card

I'm up for suggestions.. of course, you'll have to actually find some one to do the work I don't mind expanding to other areas, but the core will always remain SWR. If you think of something we can include that no other site does (Force Commander comes to mind), please talk to me.

I've finally got to reading the last Force Heretic book. Looks like the endings going to be real good. I like the development with Tahiri and I hope she does become a major focus for the ending. She would represent both groups in whatever "peace" they can establish. Of course, killing Nom Anor finally would be good too

According to LEC, never. LucasArts is not making a sequal to Rebellion, so we have taken to it ourselves. What we intend is to create a Star Wars mod of a new game, programmed by JediGreg. Post in the Rebellion 2 forum with your ideas and suggestions.

Perhaps you have a research level set on the card. Change it to 0 and you should be able to build that ship right when the game starts (assuming you have a shipyard)

From what I understand, you have to have AIM running with IE in order for this to work. It is not something I have control over, only a feature that is default with phpBB.

File-sharing of copywrited material, when you have not bought the music, is illegal. This is stealing their work without profit due to the artist. I believe this is causing prices to go up, and continued stealing of such copywrited material hurts all artists trying to start. If you don't receive some compensation for your work, why do it? This will discourage the talents of many... who ultimately may decide to leave the industry. - I'm not talking about the major groups, who may make millions in music tours, but small groups or individuals trying to crack into the market. File-sharing itself is perfectly legal. If I have my own files I want to distribute, this is fine. If I have shareware that allows the free distribution in its license, this is also legal. Making a copy of software and music for backup purposes is also legal, as long as you have the original. If you distribute the original, you must destroy your backup. You cannot receive a backup unless you own the original. Cracking down on file-sharing will, of course, not help stop the distribution of copywrited material. If not here, servers will be moved to overseas where they are protected from US law. Then they can do whatever they want. So like the casette tape, this I believe will continue to endure... new mediums will be released to counter such copying measures, further increasing the costs of the music. This hurts all consumers and all artists.

Another political topic I believe that pure democracies are bad. Rule by majority is stupid because it allows the majority to take from the minority. If you had the option to use force to take from someone else, why would you work? I know the US started as a constitutional republic. But since Woodrow Wilson, we've turned into a more "mob-rule" democracy than an actual republic. The anti-Federalist knew that, at some point, the federal government would be abused so much that the Constitution would be trashed and replaced with rules "for the common good". I just hope I'm not here the day we turn our sovereignty over to the mob of people who suck your hard work to give to themselves.

If you don't believe in the current government, you have the right to speak out against it. That's free speech! But don't be afraid of critics when you do. Don't believe that this incident represents all of the US. Certainly (like in many countries), neither viewpoint represents a majority. Say about 40% would be conservative and 40% would be liberal - the other 20% independents determines most issues. To the original post, granted: this is very extreme behavior. But as far as I can tell, you cannot do anything except voice your opinion. That's your right to do, as is the church's right to do the same. I guess this is another political ideology debate: so just let's agree to disagree.

I made a generalization. Supporting it with voting records and current opinions based from Hollywood, I can make a serious case that people on the west coast of the US are more likely to be liberal than conservative. What is the problem with making a generalization? These socialists would have us believe that you cannot critize anyone. An individual can discriminate against anything because they have the freedom to do so. No one can be protected from discrimination of a private company or individual. Government only protects people from bigotry and discrimination on government policies... not an individuals right to private thoughts. The freedoms we have are the freedoms FROM government. The Constitution states what rules THE GOVERNMENT has in protecting people's freedoms. The government has no right to protect you from yourself. The only "rights" the government should be protecting are the rights to life, liberty, and property. Whether they agree with the government's opinion or not, private institutions and individuals can say whatever opinion they want, as long as it does not violate another person's right to life, liberty, and property.

Wait, are we talking about the banner exchanges above (the 486x60 images) or popup ads? This site has never used popup ads or other commercial ad services to host this site. Funding is graciously provided by the owner JediIgor. Stormfront was considering moving this to his server, if he got the funds necessary. Obviously his work on this site was rejected with zero donations from this community. We've always run banner exchanges to: a) promote our own site b) promote other Star Wars sites As well, we affliate with other Star Wars sites, attacting visitors to both helps maintain the attraction to the community. Sites on these banner exchanges are regulated by their staff, however we try and maintain those that have good reputations and a diversified banner system. We all have lives here, so things may slip through sometimes. We're not robots.. we're human. However, I do maintain the website daily as much as possible.
