  1. Define local. We are using irc.swcic.net, #swrebellion - but its inactive.
  2. If you don't have Maya, you're basically dead in the water. As I'm sure Eville Jedi will tell you, modding for Homeworld 2 is a lot harder than editting simple bitmaps in Rebellion.
  3. I really wasn't being serious. But my feeling is that Eville knows what he is doing. Complaints are good, but solutions are better.. as in, learn to do things yourself if you want them done We going to have Empire vs Rebel debate here? Perhaps on another thread
  4. The quality on Homeworld 2 models is much better than the Rebellion's. There is also a lot of other files that need to be editted to make them run in the game. So there really is no way to compress any further than it already is. I expect this size will continue to increase as Eville progresses on this mod. Best bet: find someone to download it for you and burn onto a CD.
  5. Even the most compressed formats yield a 50 meg file. I've tried Zip, Rar, Sitx, Gz, and others. Its a lot of data to edit.. much more than Rebellion because there are full models and so forth.
  6. On issues of Star Wars canon stuff: And second... So thus, Eville rules and complainers can go elsewhere
  7. Followed the instructions here? http://www.swrebellion.net/evillejedi/buglist.php

  9. Just thought this was amusing. Yoda the Mouse @ Yahoo news What do you guys thing?
  10. Yes, your router is the problem. It acts as its own IP, thus you cannot be the server. If he tries to connect to you, it won't work. But you should be able to connect to him (if he's not behind a proxy also)
  11. Its basically Rebellion's tactical mode. Only done into a full game. A full-featured 3D interface with excellant models and gameplay. I do recommend the original Homeworld, if not for its graphics, than its impressive storyline and music. Homeworld 2 is weak on storyline, but great on graphics and mods (like Eville's)
  12. It's a closely guarded secret No seriously, if I haven't posted it on the forum already, then you'll have to figure it out yourself.
  13. Try Ebay or even LucasArts themselves. Your question is not something we support here. Topic closed.
  14. Its not too terrible. The 3d camera is useful, but you will mostly be playing from top-down view. The tutorial does a decent job. It starts out slow, but the game gets pretty involved.
  15. Like Rebellion, Force Commander is not your standard RTS. The controls, while complicated at first, don't show the full potential of the game. Force Commander was a great game, good concepts, solid storyline and gameplay, but ultimately lacked in implementation. If you liked the uniqueness of Rebellion and hated the whole AOE clone (Galactic Battlegrounds), then Force Commander should fit right in.
  16. What 'canon' substitutes were there when this game was made? Really, nothing could have matched a Super Star Destroyer. For balance, the Rebels needed some more variantions of ships besides Mon Cal cruisers.
  17. From the Completely Unofficial SW Encyclopedia http://www1.theforce.net/CUSWE/search.asp?search=sith
  18. Windows 2000 Pro is one of the most stable Windows versions. Its the XP core without all the frills. I think you're fine running with it... although if you're using an older computer it will be harder to get drivers and so forth. As mask said, the viruses that affect XP will most likely affect 2000 unless its a feature that 2000 doesn't have.
  19. Your computer is screwed I expect. The dialing problem could be due to a dialer virus... nasty type things. Programs such as AdAware might be able to help you here. But I expect that your computer may have too many problems. I do recommend a good format and reinstall. Keep your firewall and virus scanner up to date, and use those adware cleaners a few times!
  20. Well, one of the ways to keep it a nice environment is not allowing debates which end up in flaming: namely politics and religion. Such fierce conflicts arise when people are pretty dead-set on their opinions, such as in politics or religion. Thus the flaming. You know what will happen when I see this. Lock. That being said, we will see how this thread fares.
  21. Simple answer is no. However, you can give the computer more advantages (lower costs, etc) and it will be a harder game. So far, I've found that giving the computer a 1000 day "head start" works well for a tougher game. As well, a comple more Jedi to fight against is fun too.
  22. Again, topic closed.
  23. I think it would be, well.. illegal. If someone wants to help you, they can PM you. I do suggest you buy a copy of the game. Topic closed.
  24. Yep.. won all 11 awards that it was nominated for. Beautiful!
  25. Ok... let's assume: a) You both are using the Rebellion updated version b) You don't have any firewall blocking, etc c) You both aren't behind a proxy server The best thing is to try the Zone and see whether you can connect. As I suspect it is one of the former: a) Download from our website b) Disable any firewall programs (including XP's built in) c) If one of you is behind a proxy, he must connect to the computer without a proxy. Otherwise, it is up to a server (Zone? Gamespy?) to pass data to both of you (you both connect to the server). I don't know if any service does this with Rebellion.
