  1. Sounds fun. Perhaps something to add to Eville's experimental test package. Don't suppose you have some screenshots...
  2. ^^ /me points to dates on previous posts ...
  3. Sounds like it is Windows that is crashing. Rebellion is an older game and may run differently on newer systems - so who knows how long Microsoft OS will be compatible with such older games. Note: there is an edit button. No need to double post.
  4. Can you run the DirectX utility and make sure DirectDraw functions correctly?
  5. I think you need DirectX-compatible video drivers and probably the latest version of DirectX
  6. A little technical, but try this
  7. I'm not so sure you're right SS_Officer. Note the date of last review of this M$ tech article - not to say the XP SP2 is the direct cause of this, but I'd not rule it out.
  8. I believe that's a change of SP2. In other words, don't upgrade to XP SP2
  9. If you've installed RebED correctly, search for RebEd.exe - Search, files
  10. 6x9 is 42 in base 13 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Answer_to_Life%2C_the_Universe%2C_and_Everything
  11. I agree with them - Scathane and Jahled said it all. Its a consumer economy - so consumers decide what they want to eat. If its the success of McDonald's, so be it - they haven't broken any laws or made any contract that says they must improve the health of people who eat their food.
  12. And DON'T PANIC Trust me, its an easy hillarious read. Read it, you won't regret it. And if you want, you can always get the other books to read too. Heck, get the anthology with all the books in it!
  13. If you cannot get an authorization code to create an account here: a) Check that you typed in the right email address. Typos, spaces, and unavailable domain names do not work! (invalid addresses: bob@hotmail, starwras@nosite.com, gibberish.something.com) b) Check that the authorization email has not ended up in your ISP's spam/bulk email box - esp Hotmail and Yahoo users! c) Check that your email box is active and has not blocked the SWRebellion server. d) If you still cannot get this authorization code, contact Stratus through the feedback form (You must state this is an authorization code problem and please provide your intended username and email address)
  14. I meant SWR as in this site. I don't believe he's worked on SW:Rebellion, as in the game... but you never know
  15. In terms of implementation, Visual Basic and DirectX would be good. VB is easier get programmers into rather than VC++ or others. Its Windows and works quite well with DirectX. My own experience has been with DirectDraw (not the Direct3D stuff) and server/client models. I do hope you have everything planned out before actually doing any code. Fleshing out the game design is the most important. Good luck with this "Nth" attempt at Reb2
  16. Intrestion (sic) fact about Eville: he's a really busy guy Of course he was the guy to start SWR in the first place.
  17. ??? What? Is this a advertising message? You can put such messages in the Outside Interests area.
  18. ??? Are you trying to reply to another thread?
  19. My vote is no. While I am a supporter of free trade, the economic bonuses of the EU are not worth the lose of sovereignty. What we see besides economic changes: trying to form a military defensive group (NATO anyone?) and the power of France as it tries to become the leader of this group.
  20. Simple.. effective. Now if I only had someone to pay me to do websites...
  21. Definitely don't want to forget them! All the editors out there help the site running too.
  22. As long as we have people interested and good people to run it like Stratus and JediIgor, we will always have the site running.
  23. The one I'm on is a laptop 15" LCD.
  24. It should be "Full Version of Rebellion required" Install Rebellion on full
  25. Watching it now.. its pretty good
