  1. The Butcher in Diablo. First time I saw him I crapped myself and my dude ran, ran, ran. It was the big fat f**k with a cleaver. The first *pinky* I met in doom 2. Again scared me silly. Loved it. The marshmallow man in the C64 game Ghostbusters. I always got squished trying to run through his legs.
  2. Nope, this one.
  3. I just finished reading a new members asking how to get higher ranks. It was explained that it is based on posts to this forum, not game skills or time since joined. After reading this thread, I now have a much fuller and greater understanding of where many of those ranks came from Oh, sorry, I need 8 hours of sleep per night.
  4. Well, if all went well, I made an account SWRdodododo (yah, I know it's a stupid nick. I chose it long ago - hum it to the intro to Indiana Jones)
  5. We should agree on a format before everyone charges in and signs up. Can we get a post with which program/site we'll use if we'll use SWR_ for each player This might work out well!
  6. I have 5 garbages in my kitchen -I kid you not. Regular, glass, plastic/metal(cans), paper and bio. I have 3 garbage 'bin's' that I must use, paper/bio/regular and have drop boxes on the corner for glass. There are plastic bags for pastic/metal which the pick up, too. I grew up in Canada where we had one garbage and that was taken to an Indian Reserve for dumping! Now, 99% of everything I use gets recycled. I'm not anal about it either, everyone here does it.
  7. In Germany they charge for bags at the grocery store. From my 5 years here 90% of people bring used bags with them shopping. Works well, no waste. Recycle the broken ones.
  8. 6/10. Just to save time, I'll just post my credit card, banking info and mothers maiden name here and save myself the embarrassment later...
  9. I'll post what I do when I reinstall, it's a faq I wrote for another site; Installing Windows XP – I wrote this up for a friend, hope it helps. Things to have ready : • Your XP CD. Your XP CD key. Helpful tip : don’t have the CD KEY on the XP CD. When you need it the disk will be in the drive… • Hardware manual – to make certain all the hardware is in right. Be certain the dip switches on the HD’s are set correctly to master/slave. The bios is set to boot from the correct source (CD to start – remember to switch to your preferred boot choice once done installing). • Drivers for MB, video, audio, keyboard, mouse and anything else that plugs in. • Internet passwords, installation instructions and your ISP phone # • Anti-virus, malware (spyware doctor, search and destroy etc.) and firewall software ready with cd keys. • Be disconnected from the Net. New install : • Since all your Hardware is set up properly… • Drop in the CD and reboot. • XP will start installing. If you need to install 3rd party RAID drivers you should be ready to interrupt the install once prompted about 30-45 seconds into the initial boot. • You’ll reach a screen which allows you to partition your HD’s and select one for installation. Things to keep in mind : o Having you pagefile.sys which will be located in the root directory of the windows installation on a completely separate HD will increase performance. When Your OS requires information from an application that requires use of the pagefile.sys, you are forcing multiple data streams down a single channel. Partitioning the drive does not solve this. o I like to partition like this heavy work area : low work area. This allows for high performance requirement software, like games, to be kept defragged at all times in the low work area. While HD space which is continually changed, added, deleted and accessed can be kept isolated. This allows your XP root drive and its pagefile.sys to function with an application, like a game, with high performace. o If you only have a single drive, I would partition a section for your OS with room for anything else you want there… always leave extra from other software and 15% more so defrag works well. • Here you will also choose between FAT 32 vs. NTFS. You choose, here are some pointers with the better of the two: o Security -> NTFS. o Compatibility with earlier Windows > FAT 32. o Efficiency -> NTFS. o Durability -> NTFS. • Format all the drives in the same file system, or you’ll face serious issues at a later date, and continue with the installation. • Everything at this stage is self explanatory… just follow the screens. Skip the internet setup wizard, you will do that manually later. • OK! Installed, it will be screaming about drivers… the choice is yours to let windows use its database of drivers or you use the factory ones provided with the hardware… I like to mix everything up! • Get your MB/chipset drivers on. Install your video, audio and the rest now if you don’t need updated versions from the Net. • Set up the internet, don’t get online yet. • Install your anti-virus, firewall and all the anti-malware software. • Get online. • Update your anti-virus, firewall and all the anti-malware software. • Update windows using… windows update. • Update all the drivers. • Install everything else. If you did all that right, and have not conflicts then it sounds like heat, as mentioned above, or you've damaged some hardware. You could do a HD error check. (please recheck your drivers though[vid/mobo/bus controller/usb controller/sound/etc], it is a biggie) If that is all checked off as OK, then do what Eagle said, again
  10. I just checked EBay, and there are plenty available if you live in the US. You shouldn't have a problem picking one up cheapish there.
  11. Thanx!
  12. I think I fall into that category. I've been off modding Fallout for the last year or so, and got rather sidetracked from my love of Star Wars. Dropped in and you're releasing the team effort mod. Kudos to you on your effort and dedication. I'm aware of the resources needed for large mod projects and really do appreciate your work here. Looking forward to giving it a try.
  13. certainly gives progress, thanx. I have the bmp on the model but it is stretched. I will play with it a bit.
  14. i think 'ask the Masked Guru' would work too
  15. light vs lit... I think it best if you said illuminated. sorry to throw a wrench into it! right illumination, left illumination or illuminated centrally... you get the idea.
  16. ...let me know if you'd like it in .x or .3ds format
  17. I have a med transport that is scaled to the same in-game model. I have yet to finish a texture for it though.. wife is 8 1/2 months preggie, so time is very limited just now... if you'd like to use the model - let me know where to email it! dodododo
  18. hi there, your message is a bit non-specific. Any chance you could clear up the request? Having problems importing models? cards? or other?
  19. no it doesn't. on the right i have +groups and below +materials with my bmp listed. if i single left click, nothing happens, double left and it brings up properties, single right click shows the menu, of which assign is not available. (I forsee victory with this...)
  20. still having issues... I will be uber clear... -> If you have hidden anything, go for unhide all, then: nothing is hidden. -> You have to make sure, that the button on the upper right (select by faces), with the triangle on it, is pressed. Then you go to the select menu, choose ’all’ and the faces should all be red now. The triangle is pressed and everything goes red once select all is clicked ->Then you click on ’Materials’ and go for ’Modify Material’. In that window you click on the name of your material and then no problems here, my material is there and I click it so it is selected... -> on the assign button. ah. well that's just it, the assign button is not available to be pressed - I am stunned. LU must have an issue with my .bmp. Although because it is listed in the available materials for modification, it recognises it's a .bmp... very confusing. The only thing that I have differed was the colour template that I used. Would that make such a difference? The .bmp is 512x512, is that too big? should I redo with 128x128 like that of the game? I have also tried to right click the model and then select material and assign that way, however it gives an error stating the material has not been assigned to any group. I try to assign it to a group and can not. Any other thoughts on this problem? (I won't give up! just might use something else for texturing.) dodododo
  21. Hi all! Having issues with Lithunwrap - Once I have the bitmap of my texture (512x512) it refuses to be assigned to the model.... this is how I did it... - have model in .3ds loaded in lithunwrap (LU) (tried .x format too) - have texture in .bmp - all file names are under 8 chrs (even with the file type!) - I right click materials on the right and select add - then select the untitled material and click add - select the bmp option and select properties - choose my bmp - select all from the main pull down menu - select materials from the main pull down menu - select my material and the 'assign' button refuses to highlight. I am going batty. (batty - seriously incapable of doing anything) I have followed the tutorial to the letter... and I am certain it's not the problem. my version of LU does not match ( i use 1.3 ) so I'm lost.... thanx! dodododo
  22. can't help you! but nice model! Mask is great for this type of thing... if he's arround, he'll surely set thing straight
  23. Great, thanx again Mask! and GoldenShadow.
