  1. As many of you have noticed in my signature, I've added a logo marking me as a member of the Rapora Wars RPG and the RDBII community... I thought some of you might want to show your colors as well. Here is the link to the Rapora Wars RPG Logo... It's your choice to use it or not, but I'd encourage it. *http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/StellarMagic01/RaporaWarsRPG.jpg
  2. Well here are a couple more ideas, if you'd care to look at my signature you'll notice the series of logos. Now, thats an excellent way to add publicity to your projects no matter what they may be and would enable those people that are curious about an organization to voice questions to those of us that are members. I think its a great idea, maybe the moderators should have their own logo, the Reloaded staff should have one for certain, maybe if we had another big RPG (Clone Wars Tour?) it would deserve a logo.
  3. What...OMG GAT!!! On a more anatomical note, reptiles don't have the extremity you were referring to...
  4. Well Here's another logo, unfortunately I don't think there are many people on the forum that are still active in it, maybe if Cain came back and did some more modding it would come back to life. The Rebellion Design Bureau Insignia. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/StellarMagic01/RDBII.jpg As for me, I'll be adding it to my signature.
  5. I understand your concerns, I originally posted it as the logo for the Rapora Wars portion of the SWR Community if you recall, what we really need is a mascot that is all inclusive, but I simply haven't been able to think of one. Considering that SWR is more about fleets and vessels then creatures or characters perhaps something more along those lines. I personally think that each major group in the community can have a logo, the Rapora Wars people, Modding Community, Reloaded Team, and a General Site logo. I'm just posting for the Rapora Wars Logo.
  6. Well Darth Tuvax is roaring from the RPG to the Computer screen. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/StellarMagic01/Tuvax3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/StellarMagic01/TuvaxJpeg.jpg So what do you think?
  7. Well, I'm still toying with it...but here's what I've got right now. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/StellarMagic01/Tuvax3.jpg
  8. Because the Hoth shield was only over a single base and covered a few kilometers it could be immensly strong, its been suggested that one way to preserve a base under bombardment was to shrink the shield radius and allow noncritcal buildings to come under bombardment. To penetrate shields encircling an entire planet would be relatively easy, weaker shields larger coverage, so a barrage of torpedoes might be able to knock down the shields in a small enough area to allow a number of starfighters to slip through, but in a hoth scenario there is a much more difficult problem. Because of the shield's immense strength the normal means of inserting fighters no longer works, instead the craft would have to be shipped or flown onto the planet and manually maneuvered through the shield. Then they could engage targets, the imperials didn't do this because they saw little need, the AT-ATs were thought to be all but invulnerable against attack. In the EU it is suggested that once the shields were knocked down by the ground forces Imperial Starfighters were launched against the base. This is even suggested by the last communicaque in the film between Veers and Vader. Supposably they attempted to destroy the rebel transports as they fled.
  9. Okay a new version, I'm colorizing it right now, but here's the sketch. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/StellarMagic01/Tuvax2.jpg
  10. The only problem I had with it was just how accurate the guys were, that was easy to fix though. I mod everything!!!
  11. Nah... Every fighter simulation game I've ever played, including such arcade style games as BF1942 and American Heros uses the right control systems. As far as I can tell only Lucasarts reverses the aileron and rudder controls.
  12. And X-wings... They've got Torps too...
  13. No, AOP (Aces of the Pacific), AOE (Aces over Europe), Red Baron, AV8B, and most every other dos flight sim had the correct controls. AV8b was one of the first flight sims ever released and it even featured thrust vectoring (You could set the Harrier's thrust to be directed downward at 10 degree increments.) All this in the first computer game I ever bought in 1992-93. I think Lucasarts people simply don't know how the controls on aircraft work.
  14. I still prefer Operation Flashpoint over Battlefield... OFP rocks!
  15. Unfortunately Trej that card still hasn't cleared into the download section it seems... I still think organizing the cards based on faction and class is something that needs done.
  16. Okay lets see what the Essential Guide to vehicles and vessels says... So I guess we're both right. On another note, from the Episode III trailers it appears that dreadnaughts are a Seperatist design, not a Republic ship after all.
  17. Or the VSD was designed primarily to engage other capital ships, orbital bombardment was an afterthought.
  18. Lets see... They didn't have torpedo equipped fighters when they designed it?
  19. You know something that erks me, that the rudder and aileron controls are the reversed in the Star Wars games, when you push the joystick left it should roll left, not just swing left...arggh lucasarts never new how to make a good flight sim. I guess they never flew a plane (I've modified my copy of XWA so that it has been changed to a more realisc rate of speed and stats for all the craft unfortunately it made the original campaign unplayable).
  20. True, thats why the primary weapon used by the Imperial fleet to take down substantial planetary shields was the enormous Torpedo Sphere, basically the death stars little brother that fired thousands of torps instead of a superlaser. Maybe that could replace the Death Star in a mod or to?
  21. LOL... Trej, I'm an American and I have trouble understanding what he wrote. NO I'M NOT GETTING BF2 BECAUSE BF IS A FREAKIN ARCADE GAME!!! I do own BF1942 and modified it to be realistic, but overall my opinion of the game was...stupid, stupid, stupid. I'll play BF modded but I won't play vanilla, ever again! The engine is showing its age, and if these people had any brains they'd be working with codemasters on OFP 2, thats what I'll get.
  22. Actually I always increased the bombardment values of my fighters, unlike star destroyers they can target a specific building, bunker, walker, and entrenched position. Still the shields would pose something of a problem, or would they? As far as we know starfighters can collide with a planetary shield, but couldn't a star destroyer open a small whole in a planets shielding? Its something of a double edged sword.
  23. Hmm... I've got to agree that Episode I had a problem with being to childish, this is due to two major problems with the film, young Anakin and Jar Jar Binks. Young Anakin Skywalker simply isn't believable, sure having a blessed figure in the story could work, but even Jesus didn't do anything until he was in his 30s. Anakin races Pods, flies a starfighter, and cries to his mummy, it simply doesn't add up. Jar Jar Binks problems have already been analyzed, no counterpart, and very little usefulness in the story. Now on to Episode II, a bit darker, good. Anakin's new portrayal as a teen was horrific, we still have George's classic problem of character development. Obi-wan's portrayal is improved but still not as good as the original. George's tragectory is upward, maybe, just maybe he'll get it right after all.
  24. It's a Rapora Warrior (Darth Tuvax from the RPG actually), and I drew it myself, for something from me it stinks so I'm working on a new one.
  25. The Rapora forces were being roughly handled by their imperial adversary, the appearance of darktroopers had been something of a surprise, the superiority of Raporan equipment would soon begin to tell. The Raporan walkers stood, their weapons flashing through the smoke, like enormous guardians, they had kept their primary weapons in reserve, now as the battle seemed to grow desperate they employed them. The lead Walker pivoted toward the formation of darktroopers, it's head aimed above them, and those in the formation hardly took notice, firing on their immediate opponents. Suddenly the Rapora warriors fell back, and the Darktroopers stopped to recharge their weapons with the advent of the respite. From the chin of the walker a single plasma bomb flashed out of its housing and soared through and arch that took it into the center of the darktrooper formation. With an enormous flash a quarter of them lay dead, another half were wounded or concussed, while the quarter that remained in fighting shape kept up their struggle. The AT-AT walkers kept ploding forward with a trio of AT-ST marching beside their larger brethern, a force that would have made even the toughest troops stop and reconsider their plans, but not the Rapora. The Walker spun toward the nearest AT-AT, and fired its plasma cannons. The shots ripped through the mechanical drive as the AT-STs that escorted it returned fire, but failed to penetrate the walkers shielding. The AT-STs disappeared from view as the AT-AT exploded showering the area with debris. Then as the dust cleared the AT-STs were destroyed by the second plasma bomb that the walker had carried. It was now clear that Imperial AT-ATs were no longer the fortresses they once were as Raporan walkers took out their opponents, one walker at a time. * * * Darth Avarice frowned as reports from the front continued to flood in, "So the GFFA had another surprise." Frustrated she turned to the communications officer, "Order the Aklasp to engage the GFFA, we must eliminate them as quickly as possible. Contact the fleet, I want Savla runs on the GFFA and Mandalorian lines, we have nearly complete air superiority lets use it." * * * Zekk dropped down in one of the craters along what remained of the UDA lines, and glanced at the medley of troops arrayed within the limited cover, the majority of which were commandos. He glanced over the embankment where the Rapora forces were moving toward them and back at the troops, "Alright here's what we do."
