Pet Peeve - No cut scene when you sabotage the Alliance HQ
the_mask replied to glandry's topic in General Discussion
Ok, I was digging a bit in my archives and found the movie info from the now lost dll editing page : MDATA: .000 640x480 (Lucasarts logo) .001 640x324 (opening crawler) .003 640x324 (enter the Alliance) .004 640x324 (enter the Empire) .005 640x324 (credits) .101 640x324 (Deathstar fires) .102 640x324 (Rebel HQ destroyed) .103 640x324 (Rebels take Coruscant) .104 640x324 (Deathstar sabotage) .105 640x324 (Alliance destroys Imp command ship) .106 640x324 (Alliance: you lose) .107 640x324 (Empire: you lose) .108 640x324 (Empire destroys Rebel command ship) .201 640x324 (succesful trench run) .202 640x324 (unsuccesful trench run) I've already made two movie sequences for the TC, as you are aware Scath. They are already in the correct format to replace the proper scene in the game. Maybe I can upload the old Smacker 3.0 again next week, with that version you can create these Rebellion-compatible videos. Scath, it's even easier: with a patch to the Rebexe file and a change in the registry you can force the game to look for the movies and music on your hdd Hastings made a patch for it a while ago, but I asked him to change some things in it, so we'd not get into trouble using it. As I've seen yesterday in an old thread, he lost his sourcecode and can't modify it accordingly anymore. I'll have to see, what I can come up with. The other solution would be using the Daemon tools to mount a CD-image from an already altered Rebellion cd, that wouldn't need a patch. Btw, Fett: thanxs for your kudos as well, the more the merrier -
Jahled, did you have time to review the map ? Is it sync with the DeAgostini one ? I don't know, cause I didn't have time yet to check it out.
-
Umm, I haven't seen the pic yet, but what about if you let the edges (throat and collar) overlap each other and blur it a little at this region ? Maybe with a little transparency, too.

R2-Opus's mind is taken over by the Mask's force command "You will go to the NJO project site." "I will ..." "Click on the entry for the BAC" "I'll click on ..." "There are pictures below, one on the left is a drawing from Wizards."
-
Nope, currently we know of no way to add more planets to a sector. I guess adding another entry to the ...sd.dat files would be a minor problem, but there interdependencies, like the encyclopedia entries and such, that will simply get in the way. Also the game would've to reckognize the new planets as usable...

Hmm, your're sure that your gfx card is selected in Lith's preferences ? Oops, gotta fix that link, among a few others

Hi, you need to download the Bink and Smacker tools to watch the movies (http://www.radgametools.com). They are in the MDATA folder on the CD and you can either copy them to your hdd and add the extension .smk to the files, or open them via the player. The first few files are the movies (1xx) and the rest (3xx) is the game's music in .wav format. -
Woohoo I don't have to ask myself anymore, why I had this feeling, that I needed to visit the forum before breakfast Gotta check them out.
-
I think that hand drawn picture on the left could be from the Wizards of the coast. And if it's their work, then it's as canon as it can be
-
Hmm, I haven't edited these so far. But some of them I can't watch with ResHack, it gives me an access violation message.
-
Well, Lith should be able to open it, weird. You can also try Milkshape 3D and 3D Exploration, although they're shareware.
-
Thanks I think that indicates, that I did my job right I was just disappointed, that with a picture with larger resolution the DS laser would start somewhere "above" the DS. Oh well, can't have everything.
-
Umm, something like this me thinks http://njoproject.skywalkeronline.net/ie/s_bothanassaultcruiser.shtml At least their concept comes pretty close of what I imagined from reading the books.
-
And they have the same palette as the original ones ? I saved the palette with my paint progs, so I wouldn't have to copy the new ones over an original. What pics are you trying to create, events ? Some of them have different resolutions, did you think of that as well ?
-
Umm, you want to import the pictures with ResHack ? I couldn't do this as well, this way. The one thing that works the fastest way for me is, loading the pic in RebEd's DLL Entries part. Another option, although more time consuming, would be creating a script file for ResHacker and running that from the command-line. But of course the amount of work for that would only be justifyable for a whole set of pics. Btw, that's the same technology I used in that beta program, that I sent to you and a few others for testing. Did you get that email ? If you got the time, try a few possible test situations and tell me, if it worked on your pc. That'll help me creating the final version

Gooood, I hope there'll be more lines from you two soon. I still need the lines for the stormtrooper and the NR infiltrator from the first movie. You can decide between the both of you, who gets which part. Who ever pick the stormy, don't worry about the effect of his voice coming out of the helmet's speaker. I think I can conjure something with the audio programs on my pc Hmm, that looks like I'll have to release some more movies after these are complete, eh ?
-
Umm, I can't speak for the others of course. But seeing even all the professional companies always adjusting their release dates until before the actual release, I think not speculating about the final date would be the wisest course of action. Scath, I think these are possible leftovers, since nobody reported triggering the events to show them yet. You can find the entries in the textstra.dll.

Warlordindahouse !!! Congratulations from me as well. Now, based on your current rate of posting you'll breach the 2000 in March 2k4 Thank you for being what I've come to think about as the soul of our community. Always cheering us up, when we need it. Thanks for one and a half years of fun and for the time to come

Moving the planets and sectors around According to what you selected, you can drag either a planet, or a whole sector to a new location. We used this function for the TC to make the StarWars galaxy look more like the charts in the NJO books and the DeAgostini Fact files series.

Great the early winter sleep of many posters seems to be over, since I see you all coming back. And to quote an old buddy: I wonder because of whom No seriously, good to see that I'm not the only one seriously addicted to this forum. Jahled, that's great to hear. Guess that means, that you solved your computer problems. But don't get my post wrong, I still need two voices for the other movie (Eclipse sabotage), that's why I asked Untimely to take a look at this topic

Great rank ? Umm, ok Well, the dll crew is currently creating event pics, movies and replacements for the the advisor animations (3PO, R2, IMP, ...). Scath: good, I was beginning to wonder, since TK didn't see it in the first place, Igor and E. haven't replied at all and Trej was the only one so far to report a sucessful test. relief

Heard a rumor that somebody missed me ?

Slowly, but steadily we're progressing -
shhhh, nobody make a noise ! Why were you gone in the first place ?
-
Yes the strange obsolete mission. I never could do more than speculate about what it was. Maybe using the legendary bounty hunters, or it could have to do with the sabattical, hermitage, dagobah or rebel prison tags that also don't seem to be used. But I don't think LA would really react to us reporting it as a bug, well not enough to release the source code, if that's along the line of your thoughts I'm sure we could do something with it, if we had the source. In my theory, the game checks for conditions, like a char being at a certain location and if these match you could launch that type of mission. At least that's the most logical way, I can think of programming that. Btw, did you get and read my mail about that beta test ?
-
Welcome back, fellow cookietrooper We had the wildest therories about, why you disappeared and what kept you away. I'm glad your back Btw, our TC is also progressing. You might want to look into the [Reloaded TC] movie auditions thread. We still need some voice artists for the movie sequences, hint, hint Also be sure to read the story of how the first Zoot war "ended", it was either in the animated gifs, or the 2000 posts thread.
