  1. Well, hello there, Tofu. I hadn't noticed that disclaimer before likely because it wasn't there when I posted the link and made this thread a few days back.
  2. All this talk of computer know-how, R&D, and such reminds me of something. There is a character in the Thrawn trilogy and then in the Hand of Thrawn duology named Ghent who originally worked for smuggler Talon Karrde and then went on to work for the New Republic. His title was Chief of Cryptography, basically making him the chief slicer/hacker in the New Republic. Somehow I think that might fit you, Krytos...
  3. Personally, I don't believe the guy can act. Well, let me take that back--I think he acts about as well as Hayden Christensen in Revenge of the Sith when he's "overwhelmed" by Palpatine's decision to appoint him to the Jedi Council. The way Bloom, like Christensen (and don't forget the brat who played Anakin in The Phantom Menace, too!), seem incapable of delivering lines in a way and tone that sounds even remotely natural pools me out. I hold this same opinion of Natalie Portman in certain scenes of Episodes II and III and Keanu Reeves from every movie he's played in.
  4. There's also a bit called Star Wars Tech on the hour directly before it which discusses the technology of the six films and likely how they have influenced real-world technology. I just hope that Legacy Revealed doesn't turn out to be a rehashed Empire of Dreams. It seems most Star Wars "documentaries" just repeat the same things over and over again. I hope this is actually substantial.
  5. Okay, guys, this is Krytos thread for his custom rank. I hate to be the evil moderator, but lets steer this back on topic. The matter concerning Tofu is being taken care of and I, as well as the involved parties, would appreciate that no public discussion be made of it. That ends it for now. Anyway, back to Krytos custom rank... You could always be a Jedi and a military officer.
  6. I saw the video and it looks awesome, of which I am surprised. The graphics make Yoda look a little wonkified and Anakin look...well, better. Apparently this is just an extension on the previous Clone Wars shorts cartoon, which was aired on Cartoon Network in the run-up to Revenge of the Sith and now available on DVD. I saw on G4 (television channel) an interview with Rick McCallum yesterday where he mentions that this 3D Clone Wars series is really supposed to be like a whetting of appetites for the live-action series. I must say, what I'm most happy about is that they start with a set number of episodes and then wait to see if that's successful before making more, and then only another set number. This way, if not very successful, they don't make episodes into infinity and ruin the series due to a lack of plot. EDIT: Okay, so it appears I was wrong in my last paragraph; very wrong. According to the Wookieepedia article for this series, Lucas apparently already has the series slated for 100 episodes. That's just the starting number! Well, at least it's a cap of some sort. Usually when you put a cap on something like this (even one of a 100 episodes...) you get a better end-product than an open-ended deal like most TV series.
  7. Tofu seems to have decided to not return, and even disappeared on Facebook... Well, I'm not particular creative, but it would be cool to see a New Republic insignia. You know the coloured dots kind.
  8. Rob, as far as I understand, the second and third films were filmed back-to-back, but the fourth is still in pre-production. Scared of homosexuals, budious?
  9. I believe Jahled may be on to something! What sort of rank would you want? A military one? Rebel, Imperial, or something else? There are so many, maybe you could narrow down your preferences...
  10. Sadly, I'm more familiar with the "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" version, or at least I think that's what it's called. Elvis Presley is the barkeep, James Dean and Marilyn Monroe are in it, too.

  12. Man, I'm not doing my job. Sorry, fellows, but we usually (or at least used to) shut down threads at 100 pages. Feel free to make a sequel.
  13. Well, the last one went to 132 rousing pages and should have been shut down at 100. Oops. Go ahead and go nuts for 100 pages here.
  14. Hey, that first image was just a tad too large (2000 kb!) so I url-ed it. Seeing as how this thread has reached 132 pages and we usually (or used to) shut threads down at 100, I went ahead and locked it. Visit the new thread: http://www.swrebellion.com/forums/postp88358.html#88358
  15. Well, congrats, though it seems you have a few dozen to go. I say, go ahead and make a thread for yourself--all of the oldies did it back in the day asking for suggestions of the ranks. Don't see why you can't.
  16. Well, I don't think the formation is representative of where the warships are, but rather which ships have been deployed. I do see what you're saying.
  17. Too funny!!
  18. Tales of the New Republic TheForce.Net doesn't seem to know whether its official or fan-based. I get the impression it's fan-based, but still, rather interesting.
  19. Well, Star Wars Day is coming to a close. About an hour ago I finished the saga with Return of the Jedi. To my surprise, not only did my father sit and watch them all with me, but so did my mum, little sister, and even my dog! To say the least, I was quite shocked since we never do anything together for that long! It seems Star Wars has brought another family together. I was a little disappointed with the lack of news coverage and such on the television and radio. I was expecting all sorts of insanity, rather like the insanity we had ten years ago for the twenty-year anniversary. Then again, there was something new coming out then and we'd just come out of the Shadows of the Empire marketing insanity, so I suppose it's hard to match that. Still, I feel like there's something missing... Didn't Lucasfilm and all those other fellows at Skywalker Ranch say something about re-releasing the movies in theaters this year? And not just that, but in 3D? I seem to remember something, but since nothing has come of it... Damn, I really wanted to see the Devastator at the beginning of Star Wars (A New Hope) on the big screen for once! Or, better yet, IMAX!!! CNN's single story. It seems the poor reviews of Pirates 3 dominate the news there... http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/Movies/05/23/star.wars.30/index.html BBC had some better coverage with more along the right-hand column: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/6694175.stm http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/6692393.stm This one from the BBC was especially amusing. I recommend it to all who desire a good laugh: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/6680279.stm NPR (National Public Radio) hardly spared a moment, too, but only to cover the merchandise: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=10431190 And what does Star Wars.com have to say? Well, not much. Apparently we should all go back to the site this Sunday at 11:30PM (Pacific time) for a "must-see surprise". Okay... Oh, and History Channel will be airing a documentary on Star Wars this Monday called "Star Wars: Legacy Revealed". So, that's it. Aside from Celebration IV in Los Angeles and all the coverage you could ever want by TheForce.Net, not much else on Star Wars Day 2007, 30th Anniversary. Well, no matter. HAPPY STAR WARS DAY! MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!

Unless you were caught reading Dr. Seus, or Clifford the Big Red Dog, or Thomas the Tank Engine Although I kinda got "hooked on Thomas" when my kids were into it You have kids?! I didn't realize Sith were capable.
  21. Yes, Loronar Strike-class cruisers. It came from page 68 of The Thrawn Trilogy Sourcebook and is indeed the order-of-battle for Thrawn's raid on the Sluis Van shipyards towards the end of the novel Heir to the Empire. On page 376 of the novel itself, Pellaeon refers to the task force assemble for the job of conducting a diversionary raid on the shipyards whilst mole miners filled with Stormtroopers breach and take control of the bridges of New Republic vessels. He describes the task force as thus: The picture is, therefore, not only accurate, but exact.
  22. YES!!! Don't worry, since you start with Episode I, the movies actually get better. Trust me, when you get to Episode II, you'll think to yourself, "Wow, this is much better than I remember!"
  23. I just finished watching Episodes I and II so that tomorrow I won't commit ritual suicide. Tomorrow, from 8AM to about 7PM, nothing but Star Wars!! In case I don't get on tomorrow: HAPPY STAR WARS DAY!!!
  24. See my avatar. Clonetrooper Special Forces.
  25. Too bad it's on a Friday, eh? Besides, at least I'll get the worst of it out of the way first and enjoy myself in the evening. UPDATE: After some mathematical calculations, it has dawned upon me that watching all six films, not counting the Clone Wars cartoon series, would take approximately 14 hours, 35 minutes, without intermissions. I believe I will begin by watching The Phantom Menace this evening. That leaves approximately twelve hours for tomorrow... Dear gods, this is suicide.
