  1. OOC: Mates, I'm trying to catch up reading, but there's a lot of it. Any chance someone can catch me up on what year it is (? ABY), what from the novels has/has not happened, yet, and what's the status of the characters. I hate to jump in as an the idiot who doesn't bother reading the story, but I'm concerned that if I keep waiting to jump in until I'm finished reading, I won't be able to catch up. Here's my plan for characters: -a company of Imperial Stormtrooper Commandos operating on reconnaissance missions for the Imperial Remnant (their exact mission will vary depending on what point in the war we've reached; i.e. has the Empire officially entered the war?) -side characters will include an Imperial Navy captain, Captain Viscen, commanding officer of the modified Strike-class cruiser Orvic -I have every intention of bringing my characters into direct interaction with other characters, which may mean taking control of other peoples' characters; in exchange, others are welcome to make use of mine (all major changes, such as deaths and such, should be discussed first for both sides, of course) @Tofu: Can you bring me up to speed on what I need to know before jumping into the fire? I should also point out: I will read through everything, no matter what, I simply want to be able to jump in whilst still reading. Cool?
  2. OOC: I have placed this active role-playing game on Announcement status in order to help in general housing-keeping and organization. Other, inactive RPGs have been returned to normal status.
  3. OOC: This is no longer an active RPG, so it is being taken off Announcement status. If you believe this should be placed back as an Announcement, or it becomes active once more, please contact me or any one of the others of the Moderator team.

  7. Tofu, I'm the same way.
  8. It's not a movie currently in the theaters, but I just saw The Pursuit of Happyness starring Will Smith and his son. Words cannot come close to describing how simply amazing is this movie. I've never been moved quite so much by anything, and the most amazing part is that it is based on a true story. I HIGHLY recommend EVERYTHING see it!

@Tofu, you couldn't be more right--it does feel forced, which is likely why I'm actually having such a hard time getting into it. Whereas before I read one novel in two days or so, The Unifying Force has taken me four days so far, and I'm only on page 356... Truth be told, it feels as though the Yuuzhan Vong War and the general story arc of the entire NJO was forced to close, not actually brought down. The sudden retreat from Mon Calamari to Coruscant and the ensuing battle...well, it feels as though the authors had written themselves into a corner and, like The Last Command, they had to force the ending, so it doesn't feel natural in any way. Quite unfortunate. I believe the The Unifying Force should have been a trilogy or so of novels wrapping up the end, not this sudden cliff. And I haven't even finished it yet.
  10. I'm going to go ahead and lock it. Nothing personal, and I still think it was fun, but after some consultation with other moderators, this has developed into something of a spam-only thread.
  11. Mate, you got your facts twisted in all sorts of strange ways. Mad has only been here since May 2004. Now, by my calculations, that means he had over four thousand a year before he joined. Yes, I wrote that correctly. Kaja, you joined in October 2003. Mad is by far not one of the oldest members here. Jahled and LaForge are class of 2002. Budious and I are from early 2003...

No worries, Mitth: you still answer directly to either myself or Scathane. Psych is ProtAKtor to be a "bodyguard" of sorts for myself, protecting the sovereignty of the Grand Imperator, as well as the usual BEAKing. If I were to ever abdicate or die, as Commander in Chief, you would assume command until new "elections" were held. Okay, enough the BEAKing spam here. I'm wading through James Luceno's The Unifying Force, reading much more slowly than I have been. It's quite entertaining and has the feel of a modern epic, with grand, orchestrated plans and campaigns, and yet... Well, so far, it's actually been something a disappointment. The Yuuzhan Vong pull out from Mon Calamari to Yuuzhan'tar and the stereotypical decisive, final conflict to come seems...well, cliche. I mean, I love a final, decisive fight over a forest planet with the good-guys receiving assistance from the down-trodden and meek to win...and yet...
  13. Tofu, you have indeed changed your posts for the better. Much better. Hence, I voted for Rob.
  14. Okay, fellows, let's keep it nice els't someone gets insulted.
  15. I hate to be nitpicky, but I believe the planets and their respective sectors might not be correct. For instance, Yaga Minor is supposed to be in the Outer Rim, on the verge of the Unknown Regions, whereas Coruscant is nearly in the Deep Core. I think this has to do with an inability to reprogram some of those details. Anyway, I just thought I'd mention that. But I TOTALLY love it!!! Fantastic job, team!!!
  16. What?! I'm on the list?! I believe I make well thought out, if not plain long-winded posts. So, are we measuring spam based on the worth of the posts, or the amount (per day)? And now I've proved (again) that I think about things far too deeply.
  17. Granted, but then you'd lose your inspiration. I wish my dog was used to fireworks and hadn't just sh!tted in three different places in the house because of her sheer nervousness!
  18. Click the "Loading Settings button and locate the "Rebellion_Reloaded_beta" file and load it. I believe this is correct.
  19. Indeed, welcome back!
  20. Have you guys seen this? I'm surprised no one else brought it up, but it contains quite a bit of amusing stuff, including the Jawa Martini bit and my favorite, Admiral Ackbar cereal.
  21. Granted, but then Steve Jobs would find another way to get our money. I wish I owned a Star Destroyer.
  22. Granted, but then your last name would be Wiggin, and you wouldn't want that. Man, I wish I didn't have such a bad headache, or any at all.

On that note, SOCL, thansk for the avatar. I hate to post again so soon, but "thansk?" Are you sure Psych is BEAKing material? Now I have a headache. You're not too far off being drafted yourself, Tofu. By the way, I nearly read your Spoiler, Tofu, since I read but don't register the words until a second later. *Phew*
  25. Granted, but then it wouldn't be RebEd, would it? I wish I hadn't eaten that pizza.
