I have to agree. Taking a year to go around the galaxy is a little exaggerated...

If you concentrated your WHOLE fleet and just decimated planet after planet in one sector then retreated you'd eventually get a sector or two into an uprising. If they have enough ships to be able to quickly react to your whole fleet...well then...

First of all, Welcome to the site! So you've been pushed out of the core completly? How many rim planets do you control? How many shipyards? etc... I would recommed making sure the Empire is completly out of the rim while building up large resources and fleets. Getting a good fleet, combing a sector and bombarding everything, then running usually works. Including some sabotage on your runs would allow you to blow up civillian facilities while gaining popularity. After a few runs, the sectors would be all near uprising. Eventually you could grind the Empire to dust. Main points: Make sure the Empire has no foothold in the rim and control ever more rim planets and use hit and run tactics. You're the Rebellion, you don't rely on brute force.
