  1. Most be the cultural difference, superhero stuff never really interested me (or maybe us in Europe), though I loved the first Hulk movie! Was fun to watch, how all those war machines failed against a single human and his anger/love. Even though the CG was crappy, Hulk's character was really good. His moves and his vitality makes him very animalistic and powerful (kind of uber-alpha male). The soundtrack was also pretty nice, fitting to the events. But it was a stupid idea to make all those split screens and picture-in-picture cuts. They wanted to make it like it was a comic book, but it was rather disturbing. The ending was also okay, though other people maybe wanted to see a happy-end. Indiana Jones will be fun I guess. I fear, they might ruin it in some way, but hopefully not. Certainly a must-see for me.
  2. The new railway to Lhasa is the best example for China's hidden strategy. They've moved hundreds of chinese families to the area. That you can call a peaceful invasion, or even a genocide. Making Lhasa a tourist-heaven is the worst they can do with tibetan culture. China was proudly showing the world all those videos, where you can see, that tibetans overrun and burned down cottages, small stores. Those were tourist-shops, gadget-shops, places that poisoned Lhasa. Saw the videos with the police on the streets? You can see, there are dozens of shops, whole streets of them even. What else could tibetan people do? The only weapon against that oppression is global publicity and futile uprisings. Most leaders of the buddhist monks were arrested before the riots anyway (just in case..) The whole communist chinese propaganda makes me sick. And even though I lived only a few years in communism, the whole thing does look familiar to me, and it's disgusting. Hungarians love to remember the "good" old days, even my father has some relics of the past (huge Lenin poster and such). And we laugh a lot about that idiotic propaganda we received (90% of the people never believed in it anyway) but as I'm seeing, there is still something like this out there (maybe even worse)... Shocking The Olympic Games shouldn't be in such a country. But as they've won the rights, let them do it. As the Dalai Lama said well, China need that success. But there is certainly something wrong in that country, and Tibet is the first proof.
  3. Snowing here too. Not much, but the wind is extremely cold
  4. Any good new movies? Where are all those epic pieces like SW, LOTR and Matrix (okay that sucks, but still) and i don't know what else... Are there any movies (like 300 back then) that you guys really wait? Let me know, I'm dry.
  5. Wow this topic is hot! I like the Tex vs. SOCL dialogues. I just want to add, that I hope that it is the right time, or better formed, "the time has come". The whole institute needs that refreshment. Sooner or later, there must be an Obama in that chair, that is a step forward. And even if it's true what Tex said, that the other platform works better in the US (or atleast people there think that), it will be a social and cultural benefit in the long term. Let him/her (rather him!!! ) take the lead, see what he and his people can do, and if you still don't like it, get those veterans and religious dudes back to business. Very good point Eagle. Economy is what matters. Terrorists, yeah okay. First black mate, yeah we know. But what would they really change? That is something politicians tend to forget to tell (good example: my stupid little country) Everything you see or hear is propaganda. solution always means something like this: don't have money for A. We will get money for A!! But we need to take it from B. (boooo. No votes. Failure) don't have money for A. No problem, vote for us, we are the reps/dems, we know how to get money for A, and stop the terrorist btw (yay! Everybody happy! Though after voting, they still take the money from B)
  6. Hahaaaa! Very true, very true! Get that, oil cowboy! Better than being nailed to Putin like the rest of us here in the Eu. I want to be an arabian I was wondering why nobody yet mentioned the conflict in Tibet. Don't want to rush it though. Just wondering...
  7. Good idea, but I don't think it will represent the truth. Maybe your drawing skill is avarage and if I would check it I would say it's crap. Or that you are a genius even. You could also define some skills here to be filled out by us Like for some crazy RPG
  8. Is it even possible that Obama will be the president of the USA, if he wins the elections? I hope, most of you guys understand this question...
  9. Alright, thanks Evaders! I think I'll wait a bit longer. Right now, my vote goes for an Asus 9600GT TOP (factory OC).
  10. Now I'm really confused. I want to buy a new card soon, but I don't really know which one! nv9600gt, nv9600gt top, hd 3870,hd 3870 oc nv 8800gt, nv8000gs or even some gts or 8800gt oc?
  11. http://www.tomspinadesigns.com/Furniture.html Han Solo Desk
  12. http://www.atomicmpc.com.au/article.asp?CIID=103971 nv9 series arrived this week!
  13. I am: "Raistlin Majere An intensely private individual that chooses actions with care, you strive to further your own skills and powers. This happens because I choose it to happen!" http://www.tk421.net/character/raistlin.html How the f**** is this guy? I was hoping to get a sci fi character.

  15. I just loved the Red 1, but the sequel was nothing for me really. Red3 looks simply stupid, but we have to try it first. Stone me, but I loved Generals Zero Hour. I think it was an important step to get China and the Middle East to the game. It was absolutely superb to have those 3 shady factions, and had lots of dangerous humor too (which is IMPORTANT) I know that Russia became somewhat hot topic again this year, but I still think this "plot" is way too weak. The game features are good however, I would love to see these in a new CnC involving Russia (not with communism..soviet stuff is boring and outdated, rather some despotism ala Putin), China (with brainwashed pseudo-communism), UN/US, some Islam forces. With lots of critism, anti-propaganda, and some OIL issues... and humor seen in Generals.
  16. That's because it was never finished Would be awesome to get it work somehow. This year is SWR's anniversary. Maybe if we can get a few members to join up and finish our masterpiece...
  17. Improvement! Is it possible to modify the row spacing in the text fields? It's a bit narrow, makes it harder to read longer posts.
  18. That was very well made indeed. I'm not a warhammer fan, still I did enjoy it. It has a nice, coherent world
  19. I love those eyes
  20. Really impressive Evaders!
  21. It's still alive, but not more than that. And if you take the new CnC game or the new console rts Endwar as an example, you'll see that those games are leaving the PC slowly, and getting ready to work on the console in the future. I don't see a game like Rebellion today. Halo really sucked on PC as Tofu wrote. And Civ? The last one is 3 years old, and the new one? Just take a look at this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civilization_Revolution I mean... this hurts!
  22. How did people know my BD? Thanks anyway! And Happy Birthday to everyone, ever!
  23. Is that Boba Fett in the back? LOOL
  24. Nice little add-on for the PC gamers: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/speakers_audio/home_pc_speakers/devices/3549&cl=us,en
  25. Plus, the PC already has DX10 support, but all those "nextgen" console are on DX9. That means, all the new games must be coded to get along with the older DX's capabilities (if they want to have a console version. And they always do) I wish we could see something that happened in the late 80's, when the PC market actually began. It was so clear, what PCs had to offer against the arcade world. But the "intelligent gamer" as target group is not really bounded to the PC today, or atleast not in such a scale. But there are sure some attributes, the PC still could use against the nextgens.
