So I had never heard of the previous installment of this series until reading about the upcoming release of Red Harvest... from what I gather these books have been deemed expanded universe canon worthy and feature a virus with zombie like qualities... Yes, you read right, zombie Star Wars is now canon... WTF?!

Last year, New York Times bestselling author Joe Schreiber scared the pants off of many a Star Wars reader with his attention-grabbing novel, Death Troopers, the first all-out adult horror novel set in the Star Wars Expanded Universe.

Well, he's baaack... Here's a first look at the cover to Schreiber's second Star Wars novel, Red Harvest. The art is by Indika and David Stevenson. The hardcover novel is due out from Del Rey Books this December.

hehe welcome to 2009! :)

In all seriousness, I'm not a horror reader. So I have no idea whether this book is good or not, but it must have sold enough to warrant a sequel.

Fighting is terrible, but not as terrible as losing the will to fight.

I've bought and read Death Troopers, It's one of the best books in the EU. Joe Schreiber is a great writer.

There are a lot of OT elements in it, great characters, awesome setting (it's set aboard an imperial star destroyer) and there's a nice surprise in there to, won't say what it is, but it involves two characters who are well known to just about any Star Wars fan.

I was concerned about the "Zombie" aspect of Death Troopers when I first heard it was coming out, but it was done in such a way, that I had no choice but to except zombies being in the GFFA; and gladly except them I did.

I have to say that I was blown away by the book, it was some of the most exciting EU material I've read in a long time, next to the Fate of the Jedi series, which although has had some premises that are just ridiculous, has so far been a very worthy Star Wars series.

All-in-all Death Troopers was a great book and a fun read. I can't wait to get my hands on Red Harvest.
