Terminator just about, though to be fair it depends on which version of Terminator or Robocop, or which grade, for want of a better word, of Predator. :)

I'd have to go with Predator. I hesitated and gave Terminator a good chance as well but eventually reasoned that biology would be superior in the end. We all know that Robocop's a total woos, no don't we?

Can't beat a jet pack with a missile launcher though!!! and his cool gun. Like i said though, it really depends on which version etc etc. :)

Well i'm thinking there's the original Robo, there's the one in the third film with all the funky gadgets, there's the one from the tv series, and there's the one from the games with all his funky weapons. :)

For me its not so much the case that Robocop sucks, its that it appears inadequate when weighing its technological abilities against the Terminators or the Predators.

Now if you lost him and made it between Terminators and Predators, ya might have a more even playground where things could go all kindsa ways. The only thing I don't know if the Terminators have (since we don't see much out of those "future war" segments) is where they are with space technology. Course they probably don't need it if they can time travel so I'd have to give them that angle.

i.e.

Predator shows up; starts cutting off Terminator heads for its collection...

Terminator goes back in time five minutes and sets an ambush heh

Dunno, could go either way depending on what type of Terminator we're talking about and then of course when it happens :)

Terminator vs Aliens vs Predator deals with some of this. It's a great ggraphic novel. :)

I have the first Terminator/Robocop type crossover they did back in the early '90s, that was a pretty good tail that linked Robo's cyborg history to that of the future Terminators. I thought it was pretty cool anyway.

And as far as I'm concerned, the only other crossover of this type that I like the best, is probably the original AvP graphic novel, followed up by its sequel, the one dealing with the same main female character. The third one I didn't like all that much or any others in that series, but its been a long time since I stayed up with it, so it might have gotten better. But if they made a crossover film, I hope they go with that original one.

Yeah, Robo wakes up in the future or something right? And Skynet is in his head or something?

Read AvPvT, that's pretty good. :)

It's been a LONG time since I read the original Robo vs. Terminator crossover, but I do remember I liked it. The book is buried in my basement among 12 or so comic book boxes so I'd have to make a day of it and go dig it out :D

I don't recall if there was any time traveling on Robo's part, but I think he somehow managed to bring himself out of mothballs in the future to duke things out as well as dealing with a visitation or two in his past (the stuff involving his detective work in uncovering how he was the bases for future Terminator design). Anyway, that's one of the few things I can remember about it other than it being a Frank Miller story...he's generally good no matter what genre he touches.

I really wish Hollywood had followed his vision when it tackled the Batman franchise heh. They killed off every major cool bad guy (except the Riddler and Ivy I think)...now where can they go with it? hehe.

I played that game once on the SNES, Robocop Vs Terminator.

Robocop was somehow cast forth into time and suddenly finds Skynet and a horde of T800s in control and in front of his gun.

The endfight was pretty unfair, but seeing Skynet in blazes was definately worth it 8)

Why was it so unfair?
You (as Robocop) were hanging from one of four bars, had to shoot at SkyNet and not be hit by a single one of his multiple return shots.

IIRC, if you were hit by one shot you lost, but SkyNet had many lifes of course... well, my definition of unfair

  • 2 weeks later...

I think I've heard of that one before. I think there even was a Batman Vs Alien comic.

Also the one, where he partnered up with Spawn was quite cool :D

I don't know of the Batman vs Alien, but its been a long time. Its possible I have one where Batmans in the middle of messing with the Preadors again, but this time among a hunt they had with Aliens. I vaguely recall that sort of plot. Also there was an Superman vs Alien one I remember as being an interesting read where the man 'o steel had one inside him heh (if there was more than one I don't know, but I saw the first)

On a similar topic, from that space.com site's entertainment area, I saw they are getting the AvP film underway, unfortunately, not with the original comic book plot, but following the games (I still think the first comic plot rocked more than any game plot). Also Stan Winston wasn't invited to do his supurb creature effects, even though he's worked on both monsters. I think the only saving grace for this project is that, whether people like or hate the directing choice, all the producers involved had one thing or other to do with both franchises...so perhaps all is not lost and it won't be a major dud we feared heh.
