Yes i can code. Ive coded my own mods before, so dont ****ing diss me. Now how do i extract the .megs? Do i need a special program?

Argh ok it works, but as seen in the screenshot in PFF Mod, the skin for the stealth layer is the petroglyph logo!!

Anyone mind telling me the dds file for the stealth layer...that'd be nice. Thanks. Having a purple aura is cool. Haveing a white aura that says "petroglyph" and has arrows and a funky symbol over is looks kinda stupid.

 

Oh and the engine glows. What format are they in?

Edit: Forget the engines, just the stealth layer.

 

/EDIT: Sry forgot to mention is is for the vengeance-class frigate

No becuase they only gave us as many XMLs as needed for the demo.

Although, we have his Icon. And his text entry. And His Star Destroyer model...but no XMLs.

If you want to code him in you have to code him in yourself. His star destroyer model is given though, its the same as the ISD model (ev_stardestroyer).

Looks like there are three of them:

 

ui_tyber_scan_lines.tga

UI_scanlines2.tga

W_TE_Rock_f_02_b.tga

 

How do I know this? Open the Vengeance in my Alo Viewer, go to Model > Details, and go to the Parameter list for the Effect in the "stealth" mesh. It contains these three texture parameters.

 

Oh, and in case that doesn't work quite right: you might need FoC's shader as well.

Thanks I found the first two but i could find the last one (are the TGAs located in DDS's?)

Yes I did say that. But that will probably just be the case for the demo. Seems like they learned some sort of lesson from the EaW demo and don't want people modding this demo and unlock, say, the droideka. Well, they're going to have to try harder than this :)

 

Have you managed to unlock the droideka, because I've been trying and so far no luck. :-\

Unlock in plain EaW. I belive I can do it. I haven't delved deeply into the matter yet though, I've been converting space units...

You'd have to code it from scratch.  Also, every unit DOES have it's own XML files.  You can see all of them for the Demo and Full game in gameobjectfiles.xml

The reason the units for the Demo have their own XML is becuase it makes it easier to release a demo that way. If they had to take the NEW Ground Infantry XML file and edit it to remove all the non demo units etc... then they would have had the same BS they had with EAW demo. People adding everything. The final release WILL have the file structure to be indentical to EAW (that came from PG). The demo is missing alot. Some textures are there but no models. Some models are there but no textures. The Vornskyr comes to mind. Skin is there but no model. Yoda is NOT in the demo and neither is Lukes Ground unit. Looking at the code and Lua looks like the new planets are

There will be Mustafarians... there will be some new creatures added. Luke can throw his lightsaber.. and they re did ALL the animations for lightsabers. The models ALL have LOD detail scripted in and they use bumpmaps also. The models and skins just look better than EAW. The new abilitys seem to be hardcoded like EAW's however there are lots more. The stealth item appears to be a some sort of mesh like shields are however it makes the mesh underneath translucent. Im not very good in 3ds max so maybe someone better at it like Mike might be able to explain that one. Importing FOC's Orbital Bombardment system into Eaw does not look possible. However lots they are doing will be backwards compatible and so on.

 

Whats missing from the demo?

The projectile code for the new units is in the demo as well as some other tidbits. Thats it though whats listed below is missing either ALL of its code, animations models skins or some of its items. Now.. below are items I was able to determine will be in by looking at ALL the files in the demo.. (I have not even played the demo yet..i tore it part)

I find this one most interesting, because thrawn isn't suppose to have a land unit, and the chiss planet isn't in

 

 

Crashed Acclimators (Story?)

 

This one is easy, has to be a prop for hypori. Planet was a clone war battlefield and a crashed acclamtor was shown there in the clone wars cartoons.

Uhh...thats the hero nightsister's rancor. (check the text)

 

From the MTD file, the icon for the Arc Hammer is I_button_rv_archammer which makes me wonder if the Arc Hammer will be a rebel ship!??!!?? (RV is on all rebel space units, EV is the empire ones)

 

And as for the Ysalamri (sp), they'll be used in a mission to counter force-users.

I just played the tedious demo again to get a closer look at stealth (oh the stuff I do for you guys :P).

It would seem the game engine, when stealth is activated, shows all meshes named "stealth" (after stripping any _LODx suffixes) and hides all other meshes.

 

I guess this is somewhat similar to "Power to shields", which shows all "shield" meshes

The Demo's annoying. I hate the tutorial... I tried removing some lines from the story xml, but then it game me an error (no crash though). I was able to move around tha galaxy with the galactic map, but when I zoomed on Ryloth I couldn't zoom out... so you can't remove the tutorial... :(
