Can anyone here give me a step by step guide on how to convert XWA models and textures to Rebellion models? (Mask sir?)

Also can anyone tell me how to resize in gmax, get a polycount in gmax, and apply textures in gmax

if these questions are answered i could churn out plenty of modles to use

thx in advance (i hope)

well...to get the .dxf of XWA out of the .opt format they are in, u can use ACE_dxf, a little program developed that converts the .opt into its .dxf model and also spits out the textures for you. that does the trick! as for polycounts...yeah...the mask should be able to help :D:D:D
Dude, the Shnozzleberries taste like....shnozzleberries...

If you use ace-dxf you'll lose all UV co-ordinate information, meaning you'll have to reapply all the textures. Get the opt23ds utility also on Darksabers site, exports a fully textured model. You'll probably have to combine all the texture maps into one file due to the large amount of textures xwa models use, I know mask has released models with 2 textures but I'm not sure if rebellion will handle 30 or 40. I presume you've checked the gmax help files and tutorials for answers to your other questions?

how do i combine all the textures into 1 files?

i already use the opt23ds tool, so dont worry about that

i think i just have to download the tuts and help files seperately, cuz there are none that come with gmax

any1 know how to get a plycount in gmax,if help doesnt tell me?

What do you mean with RSD ? It been some time, since I posted this, so I actually don't remember anymore what that is.

Umm, you should rather convert them with the opt23ds tool form darksaber's (darksaber.freeserve.co.uk or something. Google knows  )

Did you see the part about resizing in my old model tutorial ?

There I explained, that you have to resize the models to the actual size it has in the game. The XWA models are usually several times bigger than the whole tactical screen in Rebellion 8)

When you resized it and when it's at the center of the x,y and z axis in your 3D prog, then you can export it to 3ds and convert it with the 3ds2x tool from my site, with the command-line parameters I used in my tutorial. That should give a usable model in Rebellion :D

Once you've done that, search for a post here, where I talk about uv-mapping. That's how you create textures for the models.
