Auto resolve?

Recommended Posts

Yes, in the full game they've said there will be an auto resolve feature.  Whether this is restricted to certain modes, I'm unsure.

Single player I'm guessing it's a prominent part, but in 1vs1 conquest it could cause some conflict if one player wants to play and one wants to auto resolve.  I'm sure there is some means of solution Petroglyph have thought up.

That sounds awesome, i mean just imagine what would Rome total war  be like without auto resolve, there are battles that are worthy but many are not tactically challenging at all, but its good to play small battles early in the game to get a Good idea of tactics, you can try many different things when you overwhelm the enemy.

Auto resolve in Imperium Galactica 2 was simple... you both went towards each other, and if one force was somewhat bigger than the othe, the bigger force would win. But if evenly matched the battle would be played regardless... but saying that, they never lasted long anyhow.

If I dare mention it, BfME 2 has an auto resolve feature within. I forget how they said they got around it at the Community summit at EALA back in August last year. However it was quite a simple idea. I wasn't really paying that much attention... by the 2nd day I lost alot of interest in that game ;)

From what I gathered space battles can be auto resolved, has there been any word on ground battles as well?

There really has to be autoresolve or else the game would take forever. I hope its like rome total wars where numbers didn't matter as much as strength of the units, the rank of the general, and the level of the unit. I would hate it if it was based on #of units(because then 2 At-At's would lose against 5 rebel troopers on ayto resolve then ;D)

Sorry to break it to you but i don't think there is anything like a ranking system in the game.

also, TW games aren't rts

they're more of a TBS

Argh.. thank you. RTW only has real time battle tactics, and strategy != tactics.

Not in this game there wont be, and i hope the auto-resolve isnt like the one in Rebellion. You either won and barely lost anything or lost everything but barely damaged the enemy. I had a perfect counter fleet against the enemys hit auto-resolve and lost without killing one of their ships  :(

well i will want to play every battle i mean i want the most battles i can possibly get and if i heavily outnumber my opponent or vice versa then one of us should retreat if the odds are that much in favor, yea it will take longer but its really fun, I'm not a big fan of auto resolve.

I don't think I would like an auto resolve system in the game. I want to win or lose by my own hand!  ;D

Well, the autoresolve is in the game but I don't intend to use it either, unless playing the computer and have an extremely rediculous advantage like 100+ pop cap fleet vs space station and a few ships.

hi all,

this is my first post and like you all I carnt wait for this game.Sadly I have to wait till the 22nd to get it in my country new Zealand. But the demo is a great start.

I have just noticed this thread about auto resolve. Thank god it will have auto resolve.I was getting worried that it wouldnt and the game would never end.I hope it will auto resolve with grounfd battles as well.

Only a few more days to go till the real thing.!!! ;D

Auto resoolve also is bugged. In multiplayer campaign you aways resolve in ai space battles.

It has to be that way because if it wasnt, the human player you were going against would have to sit and wait for you to finish the battle.
