Cain Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 The Last Preview - PCGameworld - : http://www.pcgameworld.com/previews/gamepreview.php/id/88/ There will be over eighty planetary systems to wage war on and above. So don't expect one battle to decide the outcome of the war. There will also be a multiplayer mode but Petroglyph and L.A. are keeping a tight lid on that information. What is known is there will be a skirmish mode for up to eight players. Well ... I remember that in the past we maked a lot of lobby for 80 planets. I mean we had unofficial debates with Mike, Brett and Chris, topics, etc... and we were never able to win. I do remember that we had 60 that in the latest update .... but now 80 !?! this can only mean that our community efforts payed off. Congrats to all the people involved in the lobby. 1: http://swempireatwar.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=82&highlight=planets 2: http://forums.lucasarts.com/thread.jspa?threadID=44756&tstart=0 We made it ! And thank you Petro and LEC - Chris (Delphi) if the source has an error pls. edit me - if not - then we should party / from 40 to 80 planets ... its a big gain for us all - The Trivium Organization - Community Manager -- Petroglyph Fan Forums - CoAdmin & Human Resources Manager -

Wiking_pff Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 80 is a totally okay number, controlling so many could be very challenging.
Lytyr Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Very cool - OVER eighty! Awesome. I wonder which ones? Currently waiting to get Age of Empires 3, Dawn of War, and Star Wars: Empire at War
Grand Moff Joyce Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Very cool - OVER eighty! Awesome. I wonder which ones?Virtally all of them. The new age of the Empire has come!
Swiftdraw Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Crap... This just means it'll be more for me to keep track of. My organizational skills aren't the greatest, so trying to keep tabs on whats happening on 80 odd planets is going to be fun..... *note: Italics = sarcasm. I'm now teh lurker.http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/2/swiftdraw.png
Grand Moff Joyce Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Well you just have to improve you skill then. The new age of the Empire has come!

AT-AP Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Lets see, it's dead-certain to include all the film planets, that would give us: Naboo, Tatooine, Coruscant, Kamino, Geonosis, Utapau, Kashyyyk, Mygeeto, Felucia, Cato Neimoidia, Saleucami, Mustafar, Polis Massa, Alderaan, Yavin IV, Hoth, Dagobah, Bespin, Endor. Most likely add-ons: Dantooine, Mon Calamari, Corellia, Ord Mantell, Ryloth, Chandrila, Kuat, Neimoidia, Muunilinst... 28 so far... Anyone seen/heard more names? http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a242/CptK/StarCruiser.jpg

AT-AP Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 All of the EU planetsThat would be more than 80. Believe me. =O SW Wiki has at least 1181 and counting. That's just the planets, there's also all the moons in addition. And asteroid colonies. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a242/CptK/StarCruiser.jpg
Nevets Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 this has been brought up before: http://swempireatwar.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=977 Like I said tho, this preview does contain false information, so it could mean that the 80 planet number could be false as well. I would wait till the devs annouce it officially (yes I know it is on the petro site, but I would like to hear it from one directly, or it put on a feature section)
Grand Moff Joyce Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 I hope it is not false. The new age of the Empire has come!

Grand Moff Joyce Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 We can still have a good deal of planets though. The new age of the Empire has come!
Darkmark Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Uh, aren't we jumping the gun a bit. I think they're more likely confused and acting on old info. Think eighty environments. Yeah, that's 40 planets. I know they say planets, but if you recall all the old info 40 was what we were originally meant to expect, with 40 ground areas and 40 space. I think one preview with many flaws doesn't make a good set of information to base new ideas upon. I'm remaining sceptical of what they say and actually mean. AT-AP Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 That's a hell of alot. Actually, with the planet-stubs it comes over 3000 named planets. If we get more as time goes on, we might one day reach Han Solo's "2 million inhabited systems" line. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a242/CptK/StarCruiser.jpg
Grand Moff Joyce Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 I still hope we have 80 planets. The new age of the Empire has come!
Moriarty101 Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 It was mentioned in the LA forum by LEC Rogue that the number of planets was change to 80 because of the lobbying from the PFF clan. All It Takes For Evil To Flourish Is For Good Men To Do Nothing.
Darkmark Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Really? I must have missed that. All of the recent 'confirmation' I've seen seem to be based entirely on this one article. If LEC Rogue confirmed 80 planets though, well that's a different matter.
