Swiftdraw Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 I never heard of Rebellion untill I joined this forum. I'm now teh lurker.http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/2/swiftdraw.png
Juggernaut1985 Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 Guys, don't start flaming each other for the belief of what the game most closely resembles.
Dorkthehunter Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 I would compare it as a Star Wars version of Rome Total War and Risk. Protecting the world from those who have an IQ higher than 30! Huzzah! Trust me...I'm a professional. Some other members and I are trying to be superheroes and save the forums. But we can't do it on our own. We need your help! Delphi-PG Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 I would compare it as a Star Wars version of Rome Total War and Risk. With an added dash of C&C for spice. =) Delphi-PGGame Designer/Community Rephttp://www.petroglyphgames.com
Makwu Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 Well there are credits, which is the star wars form of money. And as I recall there was a star wars version of monopoly as well? Clearly it should be compared to monopoly and maybe trivial pursuits also. Oh, and if the heros have an automated function, the Sims too. Which reminds me of sim city, maybe in space. Oh, I hope this games spacestation building is similar to sim city 3, only in space. "Random metero shower strikes!" That would be so cool...................
Darkmark Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 Galactic battlegrounds. Ok, it isn't perfect to compare, but it is a SW rts. In the end we can only compare it to whatever we know, but we do have to be careful about expecting it to follow its predecessors too closely. I wouldn't expect it to be a rebellion 2 any more than I'd expect it to be Galactic Battlegrounds 2. I expect a unique, new game... and I hope that's how most people do see it. "And the moral of the story is: Appreciate what you've got, because basically; I'm fantastic." ~ Holly, Red Dwarfhttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y143/Lord_Darkmark/Forcedbanner01.jpghttp://www.starwarsforced.co.uk
Gen.Vader Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 i hope we can dispel the similartities of HUGE manual and practically all interface, with little action and not enough boom! I've have you now - Lord Vader
Dorkthehunter Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 Sorry for going all crazy you guys! I was still mad that the St. Louis Cardinals lost and Larry Walker retired. Moriarty101 Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 EAW is more like Rebellion on MDMA All It Takes For Evil To Flourish Is For Good Men To Do Nothing.
Foshjedi2004 Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 I think EAW is Supremacy(Rebellion) updated and revamped by a group of people who brought me the greatest gaming experiences of my Youth. Lucasarts couldn't have got the decision better. http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa197/knivesdamaster/tags/sith_omguserbar_member.jpg
Vader89 Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 Why wouldnt they want to build a DS? In SW: Rebellion it was more of a political tool than used for destroying a planet (unl;ess that planet was so heavily guarded that you just felt like blowing it up ) But if the DS was in a system you controlled the support would jump and for systems you didnt own they were much more likely to rebel, unless you used the DS then your support went way down. And EAW isnt that much like SW:Rebellion it is less Grand Strategy more fighting (i like more fighting! ) http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e144/theairsniper/TAS-Userbar.jpghttp://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/2/Sharpshooter89720.pngYou Don't Know the Power of the Dark Side!Click for an EaW Countdown Timer!
Delphi-PG Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 I wouldn't expect it to be a rebellion 2 any more than I'd expect it to be Galactic Battlegrounds 2. I expect a unique, new game... and I hope that's how most people do see it. Agreed! At the end of the day our goal is simply to make a fun SW:RTS. We have game play on many different levels (galactic, space, land) combined with some fun and unique units, powers and story telling. We really hope you guys like what we are doing with the series. Swiftdraw Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 If this game makes good money, itll get an exspansion (might get one anyways.) If both the game and exspansion make good money, there will be a second game. At least, thats the pattern I see in a lot of RTSs now-a-days. Teradyn_pff Posted October 25, 2005 Author Posted October 25, 2005 The original purpose of this thread was to discuss the tactical and strategic merits of sinking a bunch of credits in to the Death Star given what we currently know about how it will be modelled. Any new discussion on this topic, or should this thread be locked? My Death Star is bigger than your Death Star!"The XML is strong with this one!"http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/0/teradyn.png
Foshjedi2004 Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Moved to Bar http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa197/knivesdamaster/tags/sith_omguserbar_member.jpg
Nevets Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Shouldn't the EPIII forum be renamed to just the Star Wars forum, and then we can put all the Star Wars threads in there?
Foshjedi2004 Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 I'll ask Ghostly http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa197/knivesdamaster/tags/sith_omguserbar_member.jpg
