Since i cant decided, im gonna give you guys a chance to decided for me. My current home rig is:intel p4 prescott 3.2 gig processorChaintech 9cjs Zenith mobo w/ onboard 7.1 sound2 gigs of pc 2700 ram9500 proabout 650 gigs of hard drive space I am thinking about either 1. building a new gaming rig, or 2. upgrade what i have now. Possible upgrade. Since the prescott core intel chip runs HOTTT, and i mean hot. currently, no load, running 45 degrees c. thats low for a prescott. Go to water cooling for the heat pipe. CPU, Northbridge chipset, and Vid card. Ugrade ram to 4 sticks of pc 3200 1 gig sticks. Switch to an ATI x850 xt Platinum 256mb, AGP version. Possible new computerDFI lanparty 4 with pci-xAMD 64 fx 57Nvidia 6800 gt ultra 256 mb version2 gigs ddr2soundblaster Audigy 4 pro4 300 gig sata hard driveswater cooling for CPU, Chipset, and Vid card Like a fat kid playing dodge ball, im out Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My parents bought me a store-bought computer (read: mediocre at best) for college instead of getting one of their own, so I can't see them being to happy with me if I bought another one a year later. I would give my congrats, but the last two people I said that to for getting married ended up getting a divorce (I'm not kidding either) so I'll hold off. The only game I've got that pushes the computer to the edge is HW2: Star Wars: Warlords. Only because Intel processors get along better with ATI cards, and AMD processors get along better with Nvidia cards. I dont have specific proof of that, but everyone i know has better performance with that kind of setup. It was delayed because of the tweaks done to make it better than the 7800GTX.
