... the Borg would invade the SW Galaxy? 8O

I often thought about that and I guess the imperial fleet were more than just vulnerable.

Let´s see:

It was just a routine mission somewhere in the Outer Rim. There have been some reports about missing ships which wreckages have been found somewhere on their routes. They have been attacked. By whom? Maybe some pirates. But those damages on these ships must have been the result of very powerful weapons. And also the entire crews were missing.

http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/2238/pdvd235borg62kx9.png

Than suddenly a ship appeared from out of nowhere. It maybe came from hyperspace and crossed the route of the star destroyer. It was a completely unknown ship-design.

http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/5471/pdvd235borg42jn4.png

"This is the imperial star destroyer Ursuper. Identify yourself."

No response.

They tried it again.

Than a green beam appeared from the unknown cubic ship.

"They are scanning us"

The beam was scanning the whole ship, especially the powerful hyperdrive.

Meanwhile on the other ship:

Thousand voices talked like one single voice.

"Relevant technologie detected... Prepare for assimilation."

Than finally they answered the call of that foreign vessel:

"Deactivate your weapons and lower your shields. You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile!"

The star destroyer begins to fire its Turbo-Lasers against the Borg Cube. The first shots did some good damage on its hull, but the next following shots have been completely absorbed by its shields. The Borg Cube now fired its own weapons.

The star destroyers shields where down after a couple of hits.

Than it took a couple of minutes where nothing else happened. As they lost contact to several decks of the star destroyer.

Some Borg have been beamed on the ship and started to assimilate the crew.

Blasters weren´t useful against the drones, because they absorbed their beams after a couple of hits.

It took a while, untill the assimilation was successful. An advanced hyperdrive and lots of new drones have been assimilated to the collective.

... What do you think Vader could do against something like that?!

Nooooo, you just started the unending Star Wars vs Star Trek argument! Why? Why?!?

(Star Wars wins hands down by the way!)

I like the Star Trek universe as much as Star Wars. :)

In winter times, I often watch sci-fi stuff, lot of ST and SW, somehow it fits the season.

You do need a DS to stop the borg :)

Though a Jedi or Dark Jedi could try to use the force on them somehow

All that I know about the Borg is this: Their speaker's name is a participle in Latin. Participles are evil. Therefor the Borg are evil... and they suck, because participles are a bitch to remember, and I keep getting the present and active cases mixed up, as well as the present, imperfect, and perfect tenses.

I am pretty sure the force couldn't be blocked like an energy weapon could against the borg...force lightning maybe...just keep throwing pieces of metal at them, it may eventually sever something important. As for the ships...they are doomed. And gravity well technology falls into their hands, making it that much harder for the ST guys to do anything against them. Hehe.

I don´t wanted to start any kind of competition between SW and ST. I know that SW is our all favourite. It´s just that I love the Borg, like Rob does ("First Contact" belongs to my fav SciFi-movies ever). And like the title just says, what if the Borg would be present in the SW universe? What would happen? Is a SD able to face against a Borg Cube? Do Blasters kill drones? Could they be stopped by anything in that universe?

I´m not sure what one or more Jedis or Siths can do against a horde of Borg drones. Not much more than against a droid army IMO.

I just worry about all the physics nerd chortling on about assimilation and shields etc etc.

What i want to know is how would the Borg cope against the Vong....... 8O

 Splendid, LLF!

Against the Vong the Borg would be in for one hell of a fight, considering I don't think they could assimilate any of their ships, and since the Dovin Basals are all biological in their technology... It would be interesting to say the least. I'm tempted to say that one super-basal, like the one that killed Chewbacca, would be enough to create a large enough black hole to, at the very least, heavily damage to Borg Cube.

Now, then: Borg vs. Stargate's Replicators?

I have a feeling the Borg would win. The borg have no problem assimilating flesh, so pop a few nano probes into one part of a vong ship and presto! you've got a ship, and shortly there after a crew, freshly turned Borg.

History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all."

I think the Replicator/Borg fight would come down to which side could overcome the others programming. Eventually, they would just meld together. Replicators could overcome the Cube, while the Borg could continue to destroy the replicas...long ridiculous fight with no forseeable victor.

The Replicators don't seem to have a central unit either. The Borg have a leader of sorts and thus have a central network. Whether that is an advantage or disadvantage is a matter of perspective...
