Go ahead guess. It has to do with Starwars. Lucas Arts to be more exact.

I'll make it a little easier: Matthew Omernick.

Now, who can tell me who that is?

More imprtantly, he's the Art Director at Lucas Arts.

I fully intended on explaining, I just wanted to see y'all guess.

Anyway. I while back, one of my cousins, on my Dad's side, started working at Lucas Film. Aparantly she met and started dating Matt Omernick.

Now her sister, had a wedding three weeks ago, saturday. Now of course her sister was invited, as was my dad, my sister, my brother, and I.

Mr. Omernick was invited to said wedding also. We got to meet him, and talk to him. He seemed to like all four of us a lot.

Because both of my siblings and I, are artists or aspiring to be, he gave us an Autographed copy of his book, 'creating the art of the game' Infact, it's sitting right next to me as I type.

But best of all, he offered a tour of the Lucas Arts build, 'anytime'.

At the moment my house is being remodeled, so we've been too busy to take him up on the offer. But when the house is done, My cousin and Matt Omernick will visit us.

So, I'll ask him about Rebellion and whatnot, and I'll mention this little slice of the internet to him aswell.

Don't expect the source code. I'll ask, but with both legal issues and it not really being his department.... He might be able to pull some strings, so keep your fingers crossed. I'll give a shout out when I know when they'll be visiting. :D

That would be quite awesome if we got the code... Rather neat to meet a guy like that, especially if they're a hero of yours in your field... I wish I could meet Aaron Allston or Michael A. Stackpole rather than just annoying them with my E-mails telling them how awesome they are...

Ah, screw the source code. You got the inside influence, use it to get a sequel on the planning table!

"In the future it will become easier for old negatives to become lost and be 'replaced' by new altered negatives. This would be a great loss to our society. Our cultural history must not be allowed to be rewritten." - George Lucas, 1988. [u.S. Congressional hearing testimony on film preservation.]

A member of SWR meets exactly one of these guys who made that good old game. The worlds seems to be so small sometimes.

The guy who's going to give us the source code to Rebellion?

Isn´t that a bit far fetched?! I guess that´s nearly impossible.

I am more modest. Some small usefull tools who enable us to change more things more easily would be more than enough.

I also think that there will no Rebellion 2. Just because it wasn´t that million-seller game. :( But maybe they could talk about to put more elements of Rebellion to EAW 2.

Who cares at all?!

Eagle, you are right. The thing is is that he's the art director, and he didn't even work at Lucas Arts when rebellion was made; but maybe, maaayyyybe, he might be able to get somthing for us. And besides, we would still need a fairly capable programer to make any use of it. The chances are higher, that if there was sombody, who had the free time and the know-how to use the source, they would have already *made* a better source code. I mean really, Rebellion isn't all that complicated codewise. It's faily simple in design.

And Lord_la_forge, you're also right, he probably doesn't know what Rebellion is. Or, he could be a major fan of it,
