So Resident Evil IV is a freaking awesome game... just thought I'd toss that out there. My friend bought it for PS2 a while back, and went nuts when his memory card wouldn't save his games. He had to borrow mine (I probably could have gotten his entire game library in exchange for that memory card, he was so desperate), and literally stayed up for fourteen hours straight playing the game, clear through 'till 4 in the morning. He let me play it for a little bit, and I must say that it impressed me.

The camera angle started out as somewhat annoying- quite frankly, it remained that way- but then I got over it. The shooting was a ton of fun, and I loved the effect of the shotgun. Graphics were great for a PS2 game, but of course nothing next to the NextGen consoles. I only played a short ways, but it was a ton of fun while I was playing it. Apparently the folks you kill aren't zombies, and there's a massively escort mission-esque feel to later portions of the game, but I doubt that's going to matter. I'm borrowing it when my friend has finally gotten his full "fix" in (he's had the game for over two weeks, now; He'll be able to part with it in a few more days, I think). Anyone else ever played it? Anyone excited about Resident Evil V?

I played it on the Wii. Its a bit more challenging, due to the totally absurd controls for such a game. I got frustrated and didn't play much at all. I have played Resident Evil I and II back in the day, and both were fun. Im sure that RE4 is also mad fun.

Sometimes I praise the Wii, and other times I damn it. It is such a good system when the game is made exclusively for the Wii. But when its a game that is made for all three consoles, then the Wii version is always horrible.

I really need to get a PS3...

I have a friend who swears by the Wii version of the game. She praises it as one of her best Wii games, and called it terrifying. *Shrug* To each their own.... I just really, really want to play that game again, already!

One of the main problems with the Wii is the lack of buttons. The PS3 and 360 controllers offer more buttons, so you can do more things/actions. Secondly, with the Wii, you have to rely on the motion sensor to move the camera around. This is generally a lot more annoying and less accurate than using an analog like a PS3 controller has. The worst I played was Call of Duty, where I spent the entire game staring at the floor as I spun round and round in circles...

My nephew showed that game to me and my brother. It looked quite nice on the playstation so my brother decided to buy it for his PC. He soon found out that it was a bad choice. Like as usual the PC version of that game has been ported very badly. The controls are bad and what is much more annoying the graphics look far worse than in the Playstation version. They wrote about those issues in the gamestar magazine, but my brother couldnt resist and bought it before that magazine came out. His own fault. ;)

My sister just called me as she was playing the first Super Mario Bros. for the NES, and was complaining about the "owls". I was very confused, but eventually realized she thought that goombas look like owls. I dont see where she gets that idea from.

lol- so I played some more Res IV today... my God, that game is fun! It's great to blow a zombie's head off... and using the scope on the rifle really makes things more interesting; blowing a guy's head off at, like, two hundred yards is incredibly fun. Great therapy for when you wish you could do it in real life without having to suffer the consequences- granted, knifing Spaniards isn't quite knifing the psychos you have to deal with... but it's the next best thing. Plus I have a Punisher, now!

Are you planning to get the PC version of the X box version? I have a copy of the PC version that I don't play (I just could never get into it. After one play through I felt so cheated compared to the first one) that I'd be willing to sell via E-bay or whatever. How much is a good price? Twenty-five bucks or something? It's considered a pretty good game by everyone else for some reason, but I just don't care for it. Interested?

KOTOR II all in all is a pretty decent game but there are many cons to it. Firstly it was rather disappointing that they decided to simply recycle the graphics engine from the first one instead of redesigning it. Secondly its sad to say but the game at first is pretty buggy and you need to put a patch on it quick.

Then the story lacks the epicness of the first one. But honestly if you enjoyed the first one, you should have fun with the sequel.

Anyone played

(for us Americans, its Indigo Prophecy)

It's basically a cinematic movie. To get through it, there is some arcade-style button mashing to do. But the story is incredible, the dedication to get the motion capture and dialogue. It's very creepy in some parts, but I still want to keep playing.

Got it, watched brother play it. First half (or so) is great .. then it gets weird, and the end felt a bit forced and ot what I was looking for. So I was let down by it. Also, some of the button mashing parts are a real pain in the arse. Over all, play it, watch it - do something with it. It was a great idea

A couple of days ago I have installed Alpha Centauri again and got lost again. Instead of discovering new interesting games I am still into managing how to cope with rising sea levels and the concuring other empires who try to provoke me all the time. But my forces are much too strong for them. They got no chance at all. 8)

Jeez EA... losing Tiberium, disbanding Ensemble Studios immediately after Halo Wars, DRM in Spore..

You wonder if there's any passion for games anymore or whether its run by a bunch of company execs. :)

Anyone remember "Epic 40.000 - Final Liberation"?

It was that kind of game I hoped "Dawn of War" would be for Warhammer 40k. You could buy your units like in the tabletop game. And it had some pretty cool vids. :)

Cutscene 3 - The Orks won

Cutscene 4

Cutscene 6 - Scout detected

Cutscene 7 - Orks are coming for ya

Cutscene 8 - Imperial Tanks

All in all just a very cool game. I need a remake! :?
