Lord_La_forge Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Ende August 2008?So it's been released already? I love Settlers. I would prefer the traditional line with a bit smaller heads though
Eagle Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 Oh, yes, indeed! It´s already released! http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B001BKVUDE/ref=s9pop_c4_img2-rfc_g1-3161_g1/028-1366324-3356510?pf_rd_m=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1BEJ3ZC0HNCHDMJZSRS8&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=163674191&pf_rd_i=301128 Who cares at all?!
DarthTofu Posted August 31, 2008 Author Posted August 31, 2008 So Resident Evil IV is a freaking awesome game... just thought I'd toss that out there. My friend bought it for PS2 a while back, and went nuts when his memory card wouldn't save his games. He had to borrow mine (I probably could have gotten his entire game library in exchange for that memory card, he was so desperate), and literally stayed up for fourteen hours straight playing the game, clear through 'till 4 in the morning. He let me play it for a little bit, and I must say that it impressed me. The camera angle started out as somewhat annoying- quite frankly, it remained that way- but then I got over it. The shooting was a ton of fun, and I loved the effect of the shotgun. Graphics were great for a PS2 game, but of course nothing next to the NextGen consoles. I only played a short ways, but it was a ton of fun while I was playing it. Apparently the folks you kill aren't zombies, and there's a massively escort mission-esque feel to later portions of the game, but I doubt that's going to matter. I'm borrowing it when my friend has finally gotten his full "fix" in (he's had the game for over two weeks, now; He'll be able to part with it in a few more days, I think). Anyone else ever played it? Anyone excited about Resident Evil V? 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Darth_Rob Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 I played it on the Wii. Its a bit more challenging, due to the totally absurd controls for such a game. I got frustrated and didn't play much at all. I have played Resident Evil I and II back in the day, and both were fun. Im sure that RE4 is also mad fun. Sometimes I praise the Wii, and other times I damn it. It is such a good system when the game is made exclusively for the Wii. But when its a game that is made for all three consoles, then the Wii version is always horrible. I really need to get a PS3... Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! I just really, really want to play that game again, already! 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Darth_Rob Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 One of the main problems with the Wii is the lack of buttons. The PS3 and 360 controllers offer more buttons, so you can do more things/actions. Secondly, with the Wii, you have to rely on the motion sensor to move the camera around. This is generally a lot more annoying and less accurate than using an analog like a PS3 controller has. The worst I played was Call of Duty, where I spent the entire game staring at the floor as I spun round and round in circles... Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! Eagle Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 My nephew showed that game to me and my brother. It looked quite nice on the playstation so my brother decided to buy it for his PC. He soon found out that it was a bad choice. Like as usual the PC version of that game has been ported very badly. The controls are bad and what is much more annoying the graphics look far worse than in the Playstation version. They wrote about those issues in the gamestar magazine, but my brother couldnt resist and bought it before that magazine came out. His own fault. Who cares at all?!
Darth_Rob Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 My sister just called me as she was playing the first Super Mario Bros. for the NES, and was complaining about the "owls". I was very confused, but eventually realized she thought that goombas look like owls. I dont see where she gets that idea from. DarthTofu Posted September 9, 2008 Author Posted September 9, 2008 lol- so I played some more Res IV today... my God, that game is fun! It's great to blow a zombie's head off... and using the scope on the rifle really makes things more interesting; blowing a guy's head off at, like, two hundred yards is incredibly fun. Great therapy for when you wish you could do it in real life without having to suffer the consequences- granted, knifing Spaniards isn't quite knifing the psychos you have to deal with... but it's the next best thing. Plus I have a Punisher, now! 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Sinister Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 I have recently rediscovered Knights of the Old Republic. I'm also planning to get KOTOR II soon. http://www.geocities.com/xenogears23/Jokersinsigmgs.jpg "Life is hard. After all, it kills you." - Katharine Hepburn
DarthTofu Posted September 11, 2008 Author Posted September 11, 2008 Are you planning to get the PC version of the X box version? I have a copy of the PC version that I don't play (I just could never get into it. After one play through I felt so cheated compared to the first one) that I'd be willing to sell via E-bay or whatever. How much is a good price? Twenty-five bucks or something? It's considered a pretty good game by everyone else for some reason, but I just don't care for it. Interested? 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Mad78 Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 KOTOR II all in all is a pretty decent game but there are many cons to it. Firstly it was rather disappointing that they decided to simply recycle the graphics engine from the first one instead of redesigning it. Secondly its sad to say but the game at first is pretty buggy and you need to put a patch on it quick. Then the story lacks the epicness of the first one. But honestly if you enjoyed the first one, you should have fun with the sequel. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted September 16, 2008 SWR Staff - Executive Posted September 16, 2008 Anyone played (for us Americans, its Indigo Prophecy) It's basically a cinematic movie. To get through it, there is some arcade-style button mashing to do. But the story is incredible, the dedication to get the motion capture and dialogue. It's very creepy in some parts, but I still want to keep playing. Krytos Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Got it, watched brother play it. First half (or so) is great .. then it gets weird, and the end felt a bit forced and ot what I was looking for. So I was let down by it. Also, some of the button mashing parts are a real pain in the arse. Over all, play it, watch it - do something with it. It was a great idea http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1333/3dartistbanneranimationws1.gifhttp://img154.imageshack.us/img154/4026/rebellionbannerdi2.gif
Mad78 Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 I heard of it. Looks like it has potential. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Eagle Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 A couple of days ago I have installed Alpha Centauri again and got lost again. Instead of discovering new interesting games I am still into managing how to cope with rising sea levels and the concuring other empires who try to provoke me all the time. But my forces are much too strong for them. They got no chance at all. Who cares at all?!
Krytos Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Aww, crapEA cans Tiberium http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1333/3dartistbanneranimationws1.gifhttp://img154.imageshack.us/img154/4026/rebellionbannerdi2.gif

SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted October 1, 2008 SWR Staff - Executive Posted October 1, 2008 Jeez EA... losing Tiberium, disbanding Ensemble Studios immediately after Halo Wars, DRM in Spore..You wonder if there's any passion for games anymore or whether its run by a bunch of company execs. Mad78 Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 Looks brilliant!!! I had a look on the wqebsite but didn't find if you would have to pay a subscription. Does anyone know? http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Lord_La_forge Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 I don't know, but it's at the top of my Wanted list. It's something that could fill the infinite void caused by the lack of new Elite games.
Eagle Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Anyone remember "Epic 40.000 - Final Liberation"? It was that kind of game I hoped "Dawn of War" would be for Warhammer 40k. You could buy your units like in the tabletop game. And it had some pretty cool vids. Cutscene 3 - The Orks wonCutscene 4 Cutscene 6 - Scout detectedCutscene 7 - Orks are coming for yaCutscene 8 - Imperial Tanks All in all just a very cool game. I need a remake! Who cares at all?!
Mad78 Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Looks pretty neat. I have to look to see if its available in the public domain yet. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
