Never seen the first one?

By the way, there is a very old movie, from the 80s, and that one is fun BUT crap.

In 2000, SciFi Channel made a TV serie of the first book, Dune (1). It's a very good movie, and however they had a low budget, especially the clothing and the personalities are very good. So is the story.

In the year 2003, eh this year  , SciFi made another TV serie. Three weeks ago I found the first of the trailers on Internet, downloaded them... Wow it is Children of Dune (3)! But I was wondering, where is Dune Messiah (2) then? The answer: Both books in one movie. And I understand that, Messiah was a far too short book.

But Children of Dune is MARVELOUS! It's even better than the 1st movie, IMHO!

Havn't seen Children of Dune yet but I thought that the original Dune movie wasn't that bad, except for Sting as Feyd Rautha, some singers just shouldn't try to act, kinda like David Bowie in Labrynth.

The movie with Sting is the old one from 25 years back.

The Dune movie of SciFi was in 2000, and Children of Dune is in 2003.

Yes.

1st: there are 5 parts of low quality, and 3 parts of higher quality. The lower qual one has some errors, but not very noticable.

2nd: there are far more people sharing the lower quality one. And the size is far more small!

[philosophical]Reading the Dune books is a sort of cult to me. I have to do it, and I am happy when I read it, it makes me feel good (like walking on sunshine), so I want other people to enjoy this all too![/philosophical]

Yup, I also think the newer movie from the SciFi channel was way better, than the old one. Although the old one had more stars in it, the new somehow plunged more into the pychological depths of the book. Also Paul's transformation is done in a better way.

One thing that bothered me about it was, that the DVD was too expensive, when it came out. Then after a year with a constant price it suddenly vanished from the shops and on Amazon it was a good 5€ more expensive.

I can't wait for these new movies, although I didn't like what happened to Paul in the end of 'children', but I hope the cast will be the same. Alec Newman as Paul and Uwe Ochsenknecht as Stilgar :D

Yes, Paul is transforming in the eh I don't know what it is in English, the Prediker :P But of course it is Leto II transformating to Shaitan.

But I very much liked the girl that played Alia, she is both a beauty and a creep.

Scathane, you know as well as anyone on this planet that both DivX movies ripped from DVD and shared with other people as well as sharing movies with copyright (and music and software) is illegal. I also think that it is not the policy of SWR.com to recommend people from downloading illegal stuff.
