Katanna Fleet (Dark Force)

Has anyone other than myself actually ever attempted to build the ~200 Dreadnaught Katanna fleet? I have actually done it before and it is GREAT! Imagine 200 Dreadnaughts suddenly appearing in orbit over your system and take out your fleet within seconds, then bomb the hell out of your planet! foaming at mouth . . .

I remember, the Dude Cubes were very vulnerable in the beginning ( In the "Locutus the Dude" period). But Dudez are out of trend now. Nobody is interested in cyborgs anymore. It was a trend of the late '80 and the '90

Getting back on topic, when I make the Katana fleet, I load it up with Y-Wings. Theymay be slow, but even the 181st would tremble at the sight of 200+ squads of Y-Wings

I fill it up with Y-wings to be more historically accurate. When the Katana fleet was first made, none of the current fighter squadrons existed, but since the Y-Wing is the oldest fighter I use that.

I figured that was the reason. I used to fill mine up with TIE Fighters, but when I realized I was getting my fighter's butts wooped, I refitted it with TIE Defenders . . . and now. . . .

Have you ever actually battled a 200 ships large Dreadnaught fleet or are you basing this on experience and estimates, dude21?

Ok lets make math calculation

 

200 Dreadnoughts: 33 maint * 200 = 6600 maintenance

44 costs * 200 = 8800 costs

200 Y-wings : 4 maint * 200 = 800 maintenance

5 costs * 200 = 1000 costs

----------------------------------------------------------------------

suma sumarum: maintenance: 7400

costs : 9800

 

Oponent :

TIE Bomber : 3 maint, 3 cost each

9800 costs ca 3000 TIE Bomber

But perhaps 100 X-Wings VS Katana without Fighters will be very difficult for Katana

3000 TIE Bomber VS Katana Fleet

 

To use this as an actual fleet you would also have to build 500 Escort Carriers to carry them though. Whats the resource cost for that? What good is 3000 fighters if they are grounded. You should also build an Intridictor as well so that the Enemy fleet doesn't just run away and stay clear of the planet. 3000 fighters is very intimidating, don't get me wrong, but it's not very mobile.

500 Imp Escort Carriers would cost you 17.000 in construction cost and another 15.000 in maintenance.

180 Imperial escort carrier 1080 TIE Bomber

 

That are costs about 6120 for Carrier and 3240 for Bomber

Suma 9360, lesser then Katana

Maint : 8640, more then Katana

 

Result: 1080 TIE Bomber + 180 Carrier VS. Katana Fleet

 

No chance for Katana
