@Mad: I LOVED God of War! That was great game with superb gameplay and a fantastic story. I have yet to get God of War 2, which came out last month. And they are currently in the process of producing God of War 3, which will probably only be available on the PS3.

 

@Krytos: Yeah, Warioware is a very weird game. I played it at my friends house, and was confused when ordered to pick a guys nose. There was another one where you had to drop the remote, but I was afriad to, and I lost a life.

Yeah, I plan on buying one in maybe two years, when the price has stabilized a bit more. Right now $600 is a ridiculous price to drop on a gaming system, espicially when the PS2 is still pretty good at $200, the Wii at $250, and even the XBox360 at $400.

I rented Super Paper Mario today, to give me something to do on my off-time during finals week (today was the last day of classes- I have finals until next Wednesday, then I go home). Its a pretty decent game. Simple, yet addicting. Whats cool is that it starts out as a 2-D classic sidescrolling Mario game, but with the push of a button the screen turns into a 3-D view. So if you're walking along, and there is a wall in your way, if you go into 3-D mode you can simply walk around it. Also, there are extra goodies and buttons to be found in 3-D mode that you need to progress. And occasionally you have to find invisible doors or ledges by pointing the controller at the screen, which turns into a flashlight-type thing and illuminates invisible objects. Its pretty fun. Hopefully I am able to successfully balance game time and study time!

I have some very shocking news for all.

 

I was talking with my mother on the phone today, finalizing plans for tomorrow (I'm moving back home for the summer and since Im in a new apartment I have to take everything home). So we were talking, and she says "oh, by the way, you got a package today. What did you order?" And Im like "I didn't order anything. Where's it from?" And shes like "California." So I made her open the package, and sure enough there is a Wii in there. That flogging bastage ignored me, made me wait a month, and then sent me a Wii. I still cant believe it. Its utterly ridiculous.

 

I only have two thoughts: either he felt bad and wanted to change the error of his ways, or the police actually said something and he decided to send it to avoid further action. Either way, I got another Wii. I'll be putting it up on ebay tomorrow night to make back some of the money I lost. I know they aren't going for as much anymore, but its the best I can do. I cant return it to a store without a receipt due to the serial number, and I'll get more cash through ebay. I still cant believe this...

Congrats! Once I had to wait about three months untill a guy has sent me the things that I´ve bought and payed. Before that I had to kick his butt a couple of times, but he didn´t seem to react. And than the postman rang on the door and brought me a package. I never thought that this would even happen. But at least some stories have a happy ending.

Well, the Wii is gone. Rather than having to go on ebay, my friend had a friend who was willing to pay $310 for it, so I agreed. So I ended up losing $40 in the end, but its all good.

So I finally got to try out one of the damn things today. I did alright for a first-timer, but in all reality it takes more skill than I had for a first try against brutal opponents.

 

I didn't care for it terribly, but it was alright. Not worth paying $300 for, in my opinion.

Yea I thought those little minigames were kinda cheesy.. but what do you expect from Japan?

 

Better, I would recommend Wii Sports as the multiplayer party game. It is a great use of the motion sensors and controllers.

For the single player, I truly recommend Zelda: Twilight Princess. It is dark ... with great artistic direction and plot. It really does justice to Ocarina of Time.

I'll be snagging a few games on tomorrow, and Zelda is on top of the list. Apparently, my friend put 25 hours into it, and according to another friend who beat it, he says that the spot hes at is almost halfway through.

Have you got a GC controller to go with it? Because if you do i would recommend snagging Rogue Leader and Rebel Strike!

Oh, thats the plan. My friend gets sweet hookups at his job, and can snag wireless Gamecube controllers for $10. So I plan on going with him tomorrow and picking up 2 controllers and a memory card, and then I can start snagging cheaper Gamecube games.

 

On a side note, wasn't there a FPS developed for the Gamecube where you played as a squad of clone troopers, or was that for the Xbox or PC. Im too lazy to look it up.

I believe you are talking of Republic Commandos which is squad based FPS but I do not know if there is a DS port.

No there wasn't a GC port. But I think there was a XBox one. If you intend playing two plyered games then you should need to know that included in Rebel Strike is the Co-op version of Rogue Leader.

I snagged Mario Party 8 and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon yesterday. Mario Party is a ton of fun. Its pretty much a board game for up to 4 players, where you run around collecting coins and playing mini-games (sort of like WarioWare, but longer and a bit more in-depth). Mortal Kombat is interesting with the Wiimote. All the special moves (Sub Zeros freeze, Scorpions spear, etc) are all done by jerking the Wiimote in a particular direction. For example, with Sub Zero (my favorite Kombatant), you would move the Wiimote in the shape of a "U", going from right to left for the freeze blast, or left to right for the ice clone. The only thing that takes getting used to is that punches and kicks are delivered using the directional, so its a bit odd at first. But both games are lots of fun!

OMG Mortal Kombat is uber cool!!! You have the ability to create your own fighter, and you can assign him all sorts of moves, and customize him and crud! I got this bad ass guy with an eyepatch and spiked shoulder pads (think the Shredder from TMNT). Its pretty sweet. I cant wait to kick my friends ass with my new dude.
