Jahled's universe is composed of the things that exist in your nightmares.

It's too complicated, there is the Dork Side of the Force, and only that.

Impossible things will happen, unexpectedly. and all the inhabitants are dorky and dweeby. Zoot of course is the ruler of that universe. I suppose that Jahled will give you a more detailed description.

Hmmm, I have a strange feeling that this topic may be drawing to a close. I think we have established that most of us would like to live in the Star Wars universe, so in order to keep the topic going, I'd like to know WHY!

Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine...

Because this one sucks  Seriously though, I think that (for me anyway) it's the allure of being able to travel amongst the stars, to visit planets that we could only dream about. We are stuck on this planet probably for the rest of our lives, and quite frankly, that's pretty boring.

Thanks for the answer to my question, Jaheld . . . it kind of cleared things up. But, jeez! It would be a whole lot easier to simply post the GIF in the forum than to put the link. I mean, the link screwed up the way the page is viewed. But with the new rules . . . :x

I believe I answered Elvis' question already way back when I first posted in this thread, but to keep the ball rolling . . .

I agree with you wormie, traveling amongst the stars would be far more fascinating than traveling from nation to nation here on Earth where every ounce of information about that nation has already long-since been pounded into your brain by the schools you were forced to attend as a child. Plus, if you hate where you are, you can move away . . . and I mean you can move far away to the point you surround you could very possibly never see those people and those places again. And, of course, you'll never have to worry about running out of places to visit. :D

Wait a second, couldn't a question such as Elvis' be considered off-topic? 8O

Don't get lary SOCL or I shall slappeth ye down with mine augmented fists of glory!!!

I know what you mean, hyperspace is soooo cool. Being able to pop to Mars and back in a day, how cool would that be?!?

Well, I wouldn't like hyperspace if I had to be in cryostasis! 8O
I feeling is quite mutual Scath. I believe, though, that hyperspace is the only realistic (that sounds like an oxy-moron) way we'll ever be able to conduct interstellar travel. I believe this because of a few factors: boredom and lack of gravity. The boredom of traveling from here to the nearest habitable system (even at a VERY fast speed) would drive you insane and probably kill you before you got there. Lack of gravity would cause your muscles to basically "shrivel" up due to the lack of need you would have for them. This happens to astronaughts and cosmonaughts quite frequently when they go in space and most prominently aboard the space station. A strenous daily exercise routine would be in order without any form of gravity. Luckily for us, the longest trip we have to worry about is . . . what(?) 8 months to Mars?

What about the time = money thing? Or what about ageing, SOCL? Don't you think they count as well? It wouldn't really work, would it: visiting your relatives on Betelgeuze if you were dead by the time you got there...

Well, yes, there are many, many more factors, but I chose to list only two of them. 8)

....Jahleddrive!?!?!

God damn it Trej, i've told you before not to reveal the secrets of our success in intergalactic travel...it's simply not fair on the rainbow-zebras that provide the fuel for the Jahled drive engines:

Sorry Jahled but these folks need to know that there are things better than hyperdrive.

I won't say more things regarding your universe. Especiallyon the issues concerning food. Like those marshmallow men that one can eat, or those rivers like the ones in Haven...

Well, with regard to the speed in Spaceballs, it's was called ludricous speed. With regard to drives, don't forget the Improbability Drive and the drive that's based on bistromathics...

I saw it in spanish and the speed in Spaceballs was called velocidad absurda.
That's about the same as ludricous speed...

I see you already had a little trip to the Jahled Galaxy.
Actually, the speeds I indicated are from The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which is, technically speaking, Adams' universe...

I qould have thought that it was called absurd speed, ludicrous would have never crossed my mind.

A hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy. That's a book I defintenly have to read, I saw it a while ago, but I had no money, now I saw it again and it cost too much for the money I was carrying
