I'll be seeing Cloverfield this week at some point. Im trying to get some guys to go with me tomorrow night after class, and if not, I will see it by myself on Wednesday. Has anyone else ever gone to the movies by themselves?

Double post, but for a good cause.

I saw Cloverfield today...by myself. It wasnt as bad as I expected because it was only me and some other guy by himself in the theater, so I didnt feel as lame.

The movie was freakin awesome! I really, REALLY enjoyed it, and was very glad that I had made the extra effort to see the movie in the theater. The sound was awesome, and the visuals were...also awesome. The way it was filmed was very cool. I didnt really have much to say in the way of picking it apart. It just seemed to be as realistic a monster movie as can be. Super awesome!!! 8)

Told you so. Great flick to see in theaters- when it comes out on DVD it might not be as good, though. A lot of the awesome comes from the fact that you're in a dark theater with the sound cranked up so high that the walls literally vibrate around you. :D Unfortunately I don't think that most people's TVs can replicate that- it's probably doomed to ignominy as soon as the theaters stop showing it.

I totally agree with that. The sound was amazing!

Yesterday I watched Signs and then The Village. I loved the former, but the latter could have been better.

I agree with that also. I liked Signs, but the Village was lame. Then he came out with Lady in the Water, which was the worst. I guess he's getting worse and worse...

Yeah, I didn't much care for Lady in the Water either. I do like Unbreakable and The Sixth Sense.

Unbreakable and The Sixth Sense were the best movies I'd seen in a while when I saw them. They're still great, if only for those sudden "WOAH!" moments at the end, the sort that Secret Garden tried for and only sort-of succeeded at. I never saw Lady in the Water, and I ruined Signs for myself through a combination of accidentally watching the end first and watching Scary Movie III (Dumbest comedy ever. It's not so stupid that it's funny, it's just so stupid that it's stupid).

I saw, and liked, The 6th Sense - however I did manage to guess the ending well before seeing it. Unbreakable, watched it and guessed twist towards the end. Nevertheless, I didn't like the movie. The twist was nice, but the rest of the movie was rather ... boring in my opinion. The Sign, I haven't seen it all - but, the start was kinda cool. I saw the end, and regretted it because it was pretty damn lame. Since Unbreakable and The Sign, I've given up with his movies until I hear that his next one is really good.

M. Night Shyamalan? I must admit that the plot for The Village was brilliant, although I personally feel it wasn't worked out quite the way it should have been.

And, although I may run the risk of being outdated as they may have come up prviously in this thread, did any of you guys see Transformers or Shooter?

I was outright pleased with Transformers. I had never seen the TV show as a kid, so I had no expectations going into the movie, thus I enjoyed it. I think my friend, who watched it as a kid, had some qualms about it.

I am excited for all those films, except Star Trek. I never really got into it. I am also a tad skeptical of Wolverine, yet still excited also.

Not so much the others, but I'm looking forward to The Hobbit, but I thought it hadn't started production or even pre-production... :? I've also heard that Peter Jackson will be directing a second film alongside the The Hobbit which will act as a filler between the events of that novel and The Fellowship of the Ring.

Peter Jackson isn't directing anything, The Hobbit will be directed by Guillermo del Toro... JAckson and New Line couldn't agree on the profit share...

Anyway, I'm rather looking forward to Iron Man mjyself. Although I feel that the movie counterparts of most comics weren't too good, I feel that this one just might be a good one for a change...
