Oh man. I'm never going to survive in the future. I need the clickity-clackity of a keyboard when I'm typing. You just can't have that with something that THIN.

I mean holy crap that thing is thin.

So I'm NOT the only one that still remembers that show!!! I'm not so sure this belongs in an engineer's thread though, Tex. It was a mathmatician that found it after all.

Wow! That thread seems like just like last week!

I've just read this article in Newscientist which was mind blowing, and also ONLINE!!! http://space.newscientist.com/article/mg19626264.200-heavyweight-black-hole-is-a-record-breaker.html

To put some context on it a Black hole with the mass of the moon would measure an incredible 0.011cm, of our lovely earth: 2cm (though they wouldn't last long) Apparently, tiny superdense blackholes no bigger than a proton can also exist, though their formation would require pressures greater than the greatest available in our entire universe, except during the big bang.

I just heard this on the radio today: new computer monitors that are also speakers 8O (yes, the monitor is the speaker; not separate inbedded speakers in the monitor).

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/2877205.stm

If you check the date of the article, it came out back in 2003. Apparently Sony & NEC already offer a couple of monitors like this. The technology is labeled "SoundVU".

It would also become a major pain in the arse for law enforcement trying to track down criminals or recover stolen vehicles  I don't think the PTB will let this "go public" without some intervention by BIG BROTHER. Maybe a black box approach that would change the car "orange with pink stripes and purple polka dots" to let everyone know that the car's driver/occupants are "wanted":lol:

What colour does your car turn when struck by lightning?

8O What? It's a serious question!

I think at that point the last thing on your mind is the color control on your car.. you'd be fine but all your other electrical systems are fried too...

It´s sad to hear again, that there is another solution for a global problem which hasn´t been developed further until oil got too expensive. But if ever this procedure will be in use, I´m not sure if this really will help to stop global warming, though people would go on driving their cars and thus producing CO2 again. And I´m afraid that we still will have larger amounts of CO2 in the atmosphere than could be effectively recycled back to gasoline.
Who cares at all?!
