DarthTofu Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 Sorry to post twice in a row, but check this link out: http://www.lucasarts.com/jobs/descriptions/?ID=marketing_pmmOne of us can get in close to Lucasarts and steal the sourcecodes while nobody's looking! BadSamaritan Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 Anyone ever thought of using a decompiler? I once knew a great man. Nothing got to him, and he always smiled. May he forever rest in peace, knowing fully well that his freinds shall remember him.
lordofgame Posted August 20, 2005 Author Posted August 20, 2005 Anyone ever thought of using a decompiler?decompiler?
Jahled Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 Forget all this talk of approaching lucasarts; it never has and never will get anywhere. They are more interested in milking us for every cent they can from every commercial medium they can, such as bendy bits of plastic from thirty costume changes. A simpler option: Someone reverse engine the game in the 'shadows and secrecy,' of their own home, and let someone like me know when they've got it. Wheels can then be set in motion to get this beast of a game in full swing... http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
lordofgame Posted August 20, 2005 Author Posted August 20, 2005 well if they used mircosoft visual (i have all of them somewhere) i maybe able to get it but i order the game a few days so i can't do anything right now
BadSamaritan Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 Anyone know what language the game was programmed in? baby steps people, baby steps... I once knew a great man. Nothing got to him, and he always smiled. May he forever rest in peace, knowing fully well that his freinds shall remember him.
Aenivae_Ikeda Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 That's the spirit Jahled! Right on!!! "I saw the greatest minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving, hysterical, naked, dragging themselves through the negro streets at dawn looking for an angry fix." -Allen Ginnsberg, "Howl"
Mad78 Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 Careful. We don't want to put the forums in trouble. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Defender_16 Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 I was wondering, do we even have an online petition set up? That would be a step in the right direction. You could either sign online, or have a printable version with the address to send it to with snail mail. Perhaps even include a 'Han Solo Shoots First' printable petition as well? http://www.originaltrilogy.com/index2.cfm http://www.hanshootsfirst.org http://www.hanshootsfirst.org/banner/han_shoots_first_org_banner_468_60_1_0.gif I know, a little off topic.
Grand_Admiral_Thrawn Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 If we want the source code Jahled's solution is the only way to go. LucasArts simply won't give it away. Imagine us extending the life of a game that is better than EaW, resulting in lost sales to LucasArts. History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
BadSamaritan Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 Just answer my very simple question, and perhaps I can do something. What language is this game programmed in? I once knew a great man. Nothing got to him, and he always smiled. May he forever rest in peace, knowing fully well that his freinds shall remember him.
lordofgame Posted August 21, 2005 Author Posted August 21, 2005 try C++ (easiest langue to write in) i would check but lucas shiping is slow so i don't have rebeillion
DarthTofu Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 It's in English of course! Jeeze, what kind of people would speak a lagnuage like C++... 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
lordofgame Posted August 21, 2005 Author Posted August 21, 2005 It's in English of course! Jeeze, what kind of people would speak a lagnuage like C++... i can speak a little of c++ visual basic visaul pro i have all of them with 20 books about all of them so ask me an i will find it or ask my dad how to get a source code but i am not reading it (no trouble for me still minor)
DarthTofu Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 Don't be too sure- you can still do prison time for an offensive enough crime, like, say, murder. Or pissing George Lucas off, him having billions of dollars from his two crappy movies and a number of crappy, over-priced games. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Trejiuvanat Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 I think it was programmed in VB rather than in C++... http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
lordofgame Posted August 21, 2005 Author Posted August 21, 2005 I think it was programmed in VB rather than in C++... VB!!!!!!!! no way lucas isn't smart enough to do it in vb.
