Since doing the "mod" on the Pirates of the Caribbean movie poster with Dinochick's special appearance, I had such fun with that, that I had to do yet another:

STAR WARS: Pirates of Corellia

(It's all in Japanese anyway, so I made my own title :D )

Finally, after years of hard work I am the Supreme Sith Warlord! Muwhahahaha!! What?? What do you mean "there's only two of us"?

If the thread with everyone's picture hadn't disappeared, I would have taken your snowboarding picture Tofu, and placed your face in for Orlando Bloom's

Ah, but then the picture would be too sexy! The three of us- it might well send the world mad! :P

I'll post that pic again just for you, Tex!

... But first I have a bit of text on my clip board that is begging to be pasted in the randomness thread.

Edit: Bask in my beauty! http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a169/DarthTofu/scan0002.jpg

My oddity also makes for nice basking! :D

And yes, I know that I'm not that good looking. I only pretend to be conceited for the sake of making folks laugh. If you didn't find it funny I believe BS recently posted a lovely image in the "randomness" thread you ought to take a look at.

A test I did for class - a mixture of advanced texturing materials and new modelling techniques (Well for me).

Works for both Maya and Max, the final output was done in MAX. Work in Progress.

People like you are the reason I moved my webcomic out of this thread, Krytos- you overshadow it too much! :P Very pretty- reminds me of a rather large, naked man chisled out of stone which I saw at an art museum once.

Glad everyone liked it. It's my very first attempt of modelling a face . . non-human of course

Ok, my VERY first lasted 10 minutes, an involved extruding a sphere ... not cool ... not cool at all.

Still, this turned out great by my books - could use a lot more work, but for a first it's fantastic. The material uses mental ray/Max's Sub Surface Scattering Skin material - very cool. Here's an earlier version of the material as I worked on it:

I do a mixture depending on what I'm modelling Mad. Spline is best for cured surfaces. But poly's are quicker and easier - and some times better at getting details.

In the case of that head model, it was poly with a NURMs subdivisional polysmooth to give the end result after building up the model.

I'm finiky over what I model with, if I start with spline I'll end with spline. Some things work better with spline, basically anything that's a curved edge - simply because to make a curved edge work with poly it involves a bit of work to set it up and then a meshsmooth, and there's only so much control.

A lot of my rescent game models were made with spline - my Ranger gunship for example was 100% spline . . or close to that. I've also got a Strident Star Defender model on hold, that was made primarily with spline, converted to mesh and optimised in mesh.

Well, it was following a tute while being on the net, watching TV, working on other stuff, going out for a jog, and other crap. All in all, I did it over the space of a day - but it probably took a few hours to do. Next time it shouldn't be so long. But there was also the fact that the tute was for Maya, and not Max - so some things took a little translation.

I've found I'm a bad modeller at home, I procrastinate too much.

The softer wave-like effect on the bottom is very cool and somewhat calming. It almost reminds me of a wave in the ocean, but smoothed out somewhat and softened.

The sphere doesn't seem to fit in with it as much, unfortunately...
