There isn't, sorry. That's one of those hardcoded things, but you can try to avoid these by periodically saving your game. Although some natural disasters are just meant to happen. :(

It's worse when it happen two or three times and COruscant. In the same game. SO you don't have enough energy to build defenses.

Quite true. That happened to me in one of my first games wile the Alliance had a blockade established around Coruscant. I lost all defenses (Gencore, INS, etc) and . . . well, there went Coruscant.

Once the Rebels moved a fleet or two. And the battle i worth the mobilisation of my forces.

Does your statement mean you only move a fleet back when the Rebels move their's?

Err, sir, I didn't understand the second sentance.

A defenseless Coruscant is like a tumor. I would have to keep fleets watching over it, since I couldn't have enough shields or turrets.

I bombard it so it goes over to the Rebs. They'll have achieved an object, and they have to hold it.

SO they'll move fleets to coruscant to protect it, and they'll move command chars and diplomatics there.

Through espnionage i know who's there adn how many fleets. If the fleet there is big enough I'l gather a couple of fleets and strike at Coruscant.

If it's not and I strike and retake coruscant, I'll be in the starting position, because there'll be rebel fleets around and i'll have a fleet destined only to the protection of Coruscant. Without Coruscant I have more flexibility in my fleet deployments.

I can stage hit-and-fade attacks over different sectors without fearing of the rebs striking at my capital.

I suppose holding and defending a capital is the disadvantage inherited with keeping together a strong, galactic government instead of a rebel insurrection. I tend to simply keep a very powerful fleet over Coruscant, but have dozens of task forces roaming the galaxy for any more rebs running around. I have two types of task forces: Rebel destroying task forces (like the Death Squadron) and colonization task forces, the latter I use to colonize neutral planets and consist of maybe one Dreadnaught or a Victory-class, a few Galleons/Star Galleons/Assault Transports, and one Escort Carrier. They take a long time to put together, but they're worth it. :D

That's the fun of the game, you have a planet that's stacked full of shipyards or construction yards and here comes a natural disaster, you throw something at the screen but you can't do nothing about it. You just have to go to another planet and start building all over.
The force is strong in my family. No, Luke, I am your father.

I suppose you could call that fun . . . perhaps even challenging. I find it to be quite vexing! :x

What are you going to do SOCL, you can't reverse time. You have to go with the flow and start somewhere else. 8)

Not if you save every couple of minutes. That way if a natural disaster does occur, you can simply load and keep going from where you left off. Odds of it occuring in an important system go down.

I never had trouble with the natural disaster event. Of course, sometimes it's very annoying, but it's more challenging that way
I suppose it is more challenging, but when it occurs on a system where you have 13 shipyards and 1 remains, then you REALLY get pissed off! :x

Losing shipyards isn't so bad. I remember once when I first started playing. I was having so much fun doing missions and building fleets, that I didn't notice that the empire had either sabotaged or taken over all of my construction yards! I couldn't build a damn thing and had to run all over the galaxy trying to find an undefended construction yard I could take over to build up my manufacturing capability!

Hehehe, I also remember one time when I lost track of all my researchers. The empire had assasinated them all! Took forever to get decent ships/facilities!

Live and learn...

Well that's really drastic! :? But it happens quite rarely, that the disaster hits your most important planets. The chances are low for that.

Trej speaks truth. It seems that the natural disasters only happen on super, extra important systems, such as Sluis Van, Coruscant, Bilbringi, Yaga Minor, and Chandrila. :x Scath once said: "The game doesn't like you, SOCL" . . . I believe him.
