What new force power can you come up with?

I am wanting to know about new force powers that noone has ever heard of that you think jedi would do well to have. These could be long-forgotten, or newly learnt powers.

I am a bat bit confused on your description, so this may not be what your looking for but, a very cool power would be an Earth-quake attack with the Force by concentrating the Force into the ground to create an Earthquake. Or perahps the controlling of wind with the Force... This is a thing that could go on and on.

IMHO they have already enough powers, if you make them any stronger, you'd be making them too close to a god, to invulnerable.

Trej, I meant not like they all have more powers, but more like possibly ways of using the force or actual other powers that one possesses that is unique to them.

 

I thought it would be cool to be able to bend light slightly, allowing them to make shadows deeper etc, or even amplify light. maybe dumb, but I thought it would be cool.

Nice idea Barkoa with bending light. I reacon a great power would be the power to control computers. like a jedi gets up to a locked security door and they just put the force into the circuit panel next to it and with the force they can follow the coding untill they find the right code and they can then open the door.

The force is a form of energy that binds all living being. Jedi or force sensitive beings can amnipulate the force. The force is a form of energy, that like all forms of energy, can be converted into another in one way or another, such as using the force to rapidly move particles to create heat. So, to that degree, a Jedi's "force powers" are limited to his or her control of the force, imagination, stamina and his or her own will (Jedi or Sith, would you kill someone with the force?).

 

So, with that said - as a Jedi, one could not use the force to inflict harm onto another, or not have the force harm someone directly. I've always liked thinking during the Yuuzhan Vong crisis, Jedi could have used the force to not throw them, but to create a powerful gust of wind to throw them. Ok, here's a list I've been thinking of for jedi:

 

Wind, as above

Sleep, use the force to convince the body that it needs to sleep at that moment

Tazer, powered down lightning that'll knock out and hurt them a little - like a real life tazer

Whirlwind, put a person in a whirlwind raising them up into the air and disabling them - or around youself as a sort of melee shield

Mind tricks:

Multiple selfs - create multiple images of yourself in your opponents mind

Confussion - create weird images in their minds, or fiddle with their perseption and balance etc. and make them nautious

Anti-circuit - a mixture between an ion cannon and lightning that can disable droids etc.

Kenetic blast - usually simular to push, though the force weilder builds up kenetic energy (I guess between their hands) and then can launch it at an object, tranferring the energy ot the object. The user controls the KE as it flows to its target and also can manipulate how it effects the target - ie. transfers motion, moving them, heat them - if you know about energy transfer etc, you can do a lot with this

KE blast mk II - Yeah, really dumb name. This would not be used by jedi on living opponents, and only by those very strong in the force and with a lot of control (Luke, Yoda, Vergree). Build up enough KE to super heat objects - melt a wall, a tank . . . something like this, though, would require a lot of concentration, time etc.

Energy Absorb - another "power" that would require a talented master to do. Basically, it's an adaptation of the prior "power", though the user absorbs energy this time and would create a field of energy around themselves - portable shield? Perhaps, though there would still be energy loss to the surroundings heating them up, the user couldn't litterally absorb the energy as it would be converted into heat, sound and movement in the user (maybe a bit, like a couple of blaster shots).

 

The last two I put just as examples. Both would be to difficult for a Jedi to do. I would think even the most talented masters would have trouble with them - well perhaps not Yoda. Using KE to heat up an object to melt it could be done by any jedi with the know how - though it could take along long time, that and it would drain the user. Think Kyp Durron flipping a void

Good point, well I think that shows you need to be at a level like Vader to pull that off. Come to think of it, Jacen does the same thing in Traitor - no wonder I thought it was a good idea, it wasn't mine

I was thinking of that, and that's how I got my force absorb. There's already force protect and force absorb - so I was trying to think of something simular

Corran Horn was very powerful for that. His grand farther absorbed all the power of a light sabr when someone stuck it into him.

 

How about a flame thrower power?

Nah. The most powerful force power would be the abillity to make normal aliens into force users by infusing them in medi-cloriants. but to do that sort of trick would almost kill the jedi or sith who used the power. The advantage would be that whoever has this abillity would be able to make a huge army of force users that would follow him.

Yeah, midi-chlorians were stupid, though the explanation given about them was to a child attempting to come to terms with "the Force" - midi-chlorians could be significantly different to the children version of the explanation. It's like telling children about germs, you say that they're tinny little creatures that go into your body and do bad things to make you sick. Not far from the truth - though there are a lot of miss perceptions in it. So, I'd like to think that this is simular to Lucas' midi-chlorian comment in episdoe 1.

Perhaps, midi-chlorians are like vornskrs and are attracted to the force - so the stronger you in the force, or the more control you have, the more of them you would have in your body living off the force energy? Oh well, just a theory

One cool power would be to understand many languages using the force.

As of the whole midi-chlorian debate, I would have to agree with Trej. I think part of the mystery was in the lack of knowledge about what the force actually was.

 

Another cool power would be to be able to hide through the force from other jedi or sith, so you could be very close to them, and they couldn't sense you or anything! Ambushes would be heaps easier!

You can do that with non-jedis but it would be hard with force users.

Good point. I was thinking. Since it is possible to heat thing using the force maybe it is possible to freeze them.

Isn't that like Vergere's "making yourself small" thing is all about? And Corran who did hide his Force-Sensitivity from the Jensaarai in I, Jedi.
