That's most likely the reason.

Imperial females were supposed to be rare, but there were quite a lot of them in high positions (more than you would have expected). I would understand if they were self-appointed, but most weren't. Isard was nothing new after Daala and Tavira and the 'evil female' thing started to lose significant impact.

Actually, most of the "Evil Females" mae it to that position because of their overall brilliance. Daala proved herself as a tactician at Carida, Iceheart managed to backstab her way into power, and Tavira wasnt appointed as an Admiral until after Endor, when a lot of females started to rise in the ranks of the imperial navy becuase of the empires need for decent tacticians.

Daala wasn't an official Admiral either. Her lover, Tarkin, gave her that position secretly, for no matter how brilliant you were, if you were a female the Empire would still give you a hard time. Most were special cases, especially in the case of Isard, who actually got her position with consent of the Emperor.

Secret or not, Daala was still an Admiral.

And a capable one, but my point was, having too many brilliant female warlords gets old after awhile (though I have to admit, Isard was the coolest and most unique). The initial shock of a high positioned female in a very sexist Empire wore off after the first three or four...

I still think it should have been Wraith Squadron who took Zsinj down. Most of their missions were anti-Zsinj, and they were formed as a new addition for the hunt for him. It would have been better if their efforts had amounted to something... :(

Or Dave Wolverton lol. I thought it said Micheal Stackpole. O well :? Was that all Wraith Squadron was built for? Didnt they lose their X-Wing commision after the thought they destroyed Znsij?

Yeah, but they were reinstated for the Vong invasion I think.

They didn't lose it, they just transferred to Intelligence, I once mailed Aaron Allston about the same thing, he told me that he had intended them to do Intelligence mission with their X-Wings. So essentially what Wedge had meant for Starfighter command as a commando-pilot unit was utilized later by NRI.

Doh! :x My mistake...

So, wasn't Wraith Squadron with Intelligence to begin with? i thought they were only a secondary flight team and a Commando unit first...

Yep, but they were assigned to Starfighter Command, then after the Zsinj Campaign they were assigned to Intel were Cracken could get to order them around, and leave WEdge alone for a few years...

Not really... Del Rey dropped the whole X-Wing Series, when they got the publishing rights. So there's little hope for a book. Since Allston will write some SW books, perhaps he'll be asked to write an e-book or a Insider Short Story. In a mail he told me that he did have some ideas for what the Wraiths were up to between the Zsinj Campaign and the Coruscant mission.

So zsinj was around in full character for only 5 or 6 books? How cheap. No wonder there is no information about him. And what a cheap way to end a good series of Wraith Squadron and Rogue Squardron. Are there any book depicting Rogue Sqaud between Znisj and Vong?

Zsinj hardly made any direct appearances himself, so technically he was only 'in' about 3 or 4 books at the most (I agree, it sucks, I hate the way his character is so unexplored :x ).

I'm pretty sure it follows Rogue Squadron during the Vong Invasion, but I think they've already dropped Wraith Squadron entirely (for now).

Any confirmation, Trejiuvanat? :?

Zsinj has a holograhic appearance in Wraith Squadron, and is a character in Iron Fist, Solo Command and the Courtship of Princess Leia.

The Rogues are loosely followed through out NJO, especially Stackpole's and Allston's books deal with them. Allston retakes the Wraiths for the Coruscant mission in his Enemy Lines Duology.

Also Allston is in line to write some books post-NJO. Hopefully we will see the Wraiths there too.

Fighting is terrible, but not as terrible as losing the will to fight.

so far....u mean there are more coming? Doesnt the series deal with the Vong invasion? What else could happen?

Well, the series was popular so I'm sure they'll find a way of squeezing more in (extra prequels to mid-series novels, perhaps.... )

I wish they would do that with the X-Wing series...
