Brass_Bra_Leia Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 Try this again, I keep posting under TF's accoutn whoops You want just one food that's not possible Favorite candy - Hershey's with almonds, or my mom's fudge, or this peanut butter thin I had yesterday oh man was it good. Favorite all around food - this changes depending on the mood, right now, my brother's lumpia with it's special sauce. I like fajita alot and my mom's beans and rice. Favorite drink - Arizona green tea "You came in THAT thing? You're braver than I thought." -Princess Leia
Guest Scathane Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 You want just one food that's not possible And if you had to choose one single favorite?
Brass_Bra_Leia Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 You want just one food that's not possible And if you had to choose one single favorite? Had to choose one, only one flavor for the rest of my life I can't, it's impossible, I love all the tastes in food too much. hmm.. but if I had too... ohh it would just be for putting it on paper I don't know I guess, hmm.. This is a tough question you ask. I'm going with favorite by something I could eat everyday forever and only get remotely sick of. I guess fuddrucker's (a local restauraunt) hamburgers and french fries. They make huge burgers on big homemade sour-dough buns, yummm Then they have a whole toppings area where you can get tiny chopped tomatoes, pickles, shredded lettuce. Yummm... You know it truly is almost impossible for me to get a favorite. When I was pregnant I got on a turkey kick, I sat down one afternoon and ate a whole pound of turkey by myself. Turkey and watermelon, loved it. "You came in THAT thing? You're braver than I thought." -Princess Leia
ElvisMiggell Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 RHUBARB CRUMBLE!!! Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
the_mask Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 Now choosing one kind is also impossible for me. There are so many different types of food I'd sink my teeth in any day. Basically any kind of pork or poultry with almost any kind of potatoes, although I've developed a habit of frying potato 'wedges'.Then there's also the meat that comes with spaghetti, but without the noodles (shiver) and a juicy tomato sauce instead (I don't know what this dish is called in english, so I settled for describing it). But the two things I can always be found eating the meat plates empty on X-mas are 'Fondue' and 'Raclette'. The first one comes from France, IIRC and is this frying pot where everybody sits around and puts in slices of meat. It really brings you closer together as a family, 'cause you always gotta help someone to regain their slices on their stick, before they are fried beyond taste. The second originates from Switzerland, at least I think that it does. It consists of a large heating plate and everybody has these little pans to put on. You can also put slices of meat or salami, ham or cheese in these pans (combinations work as well) and it just tastes great. So you realize, why I can't decide on just one kind of food ? Because I haven't even started yet with cake, sweets or chips or ... http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Trejiuvanat Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 Hard Choice. I'd gladly consume any kind of Italian food. There's also some really tasty cheese and tenderloin Taco [The real stuff not the Taco Bell Crap], and there's of course Argentinian Steak and Mushroom Sauce, that I could (and do) eat in industrial amounts. Pilaf Rice and Curry Sauce is a particular favorite. A good Gallo Pinto, which is composed of Rice, Black Beans, Lizano Sauce, sliced onions, cellery, and fried eggs makes an excellent breakfast. Sweet stuff, well there's Schwarzwaldkirschtorte, which Mask could amply describe. Basically anything containing chocolate [excepting white chocolate]. There's too much I love too eat, I don't think I'd go for a personal favorite, but Pizza is definite the most versatile "dish", and tastes really good when you only have 10 mins to eat before an exam. http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
Jahled Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 Ummm....errrr.... ...this really is a very odd thread......that obviously requires MY IMMEDIATE ATTENTION!!! Obviously, being a cultured man of the world, I enjoy all foods in their various capacity and variety... but, well... hell, Duck with Hoy Sin source served with pancakes is a bit crap on a pizza; so all i'm left with is... spare ribs..followed by some form of Pizza! Good callScathe! It's obvious! BTW: BBL- I caught a glimpse of one of your kidsearlier today.... http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
AdmiralFishface Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 Hmm...Spaghetti in Pesto Genovese, maybe. It's got all I need: Olive oil, garlic and basil, and Pinoli. Plus some nicely toasted white bread...Alternatively: Burritos, Pizza, and the all-time classic Wiener Schnitzel. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/RiesstiuIV/Krempel/trapaure.gif
Guest Scathane Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 (I don't know what this dish is called in english, so I settled for describing it). What's it called in German, then? BTW, with all these descritions of how your favorite foods are prepared, we could start an SWR Recipe Book! Jamie Oliver eat your heart out!
the_mask Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 What's it called in German, then? It's called Haschee and no, you can't smoke it Just found one lousy pic: http://www.jadietz.de/rezepte/rezepte/haschee.htmbut I make it without the mashed potatos and I also leave the wine and onions away. Actually theres a great variety on how you cook it and it's also done pretty fast BTW, with all these descritions of how your favorite foods are prepared, we could start an SWR Recipe Book! Jamie Oliver eat your heart out! my thoughts exactly, while I wrote that post yesterday night. Just imagine the book cover, with all our avatars on it, like on the picture with Trej's 3000 post thread http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Guest Scathane Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 It's called Haschee Ahh! Hachee, I like that too! It's a fairly common dish in the Netherlands as well. Just found one lousy pic: http://www.jadietz.de/rezepte/rezepte/haschee.htm Try this pic: http://home.planet.nl/~oud00165/Hachee2.jpg ...but I make it without the mashed potatos and I also leave the wine and onions away. Hachee without wine and onions???!!! That's line pizza without anchovy and pepperoni!!! my thoughts exactly, while I wrote that post yesterday night. Just imagine the book cover, with all our avatars on it, like on the picture with Trej's 3000 post thread You don't think I would actually put Trej Vongy head on a cookbook, do you?! People would lose their appetites instantly!
the_mask Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 Hachee without wine and onions???!!! Well, I don't like to eat the onions, but leaving them in during cooking gives it a rich taste. It's also a dish that you can be varied a lot, like mixing rice in it, for example. Your picture looks interesting, I think I'll try that That's line pizza without anchovy and pepperoni!!! Umm, pizza ? Anchovies ? Pepp... no wait a minute, I actually like those Don't worry, I know I'm picky about food my mother used to complain for over 20 years now, that I'd be content with only eating meat and potatos You don't think I would actually put Trej Vongy head on a cookbook, do you?! People would lose their appetites instantly! Ohhh, this wouldn't be the same site without you two bickering like the two droids I once compared you to. But d'ya remember the one pic Trej once made with his Veggie Vong head on a salad ? http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif

But d'ya remember the one pic Trej once made with his Veggie Vong head on a salad ? Now that you mention it... We could make a Vong cookbook! I've done some research and the Vong actually seem quite edible, considering what people all around the web already make of them: Vong Peanut SauceVong Sweet and Sour Sauce or Vong Tamarind Sauce Heck, they've even got Ving restaurants!
ElvisMiggell Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 Squality, although the first one looks minging! Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away

Guest Scathane Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 Squality, although the first one looks minging! Well, apart from being Vong, Trej's kind of a peanut as well, isn't he?

LetTheWookieWin Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 Pizza. Lumpia. and carne asada. Chewbacca: Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrgh C-3PO: He made a fair move. Screaming about it can't help you. Han Solo: Let him have it. It's not wise to upset a Wookiee. C-3PO: But sir, nobody worries about upsetting a droid. Han Solo: That's 'cause droids don't pull people's arms out of their sockets when they lose. Wookiees are known to do that. Chewbacca: Grrf. C-3PO: I see your point, sir. I suggest a new strategy, R2: let the Wookiee win.
Brass_Bra_Leia Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 So there are more Lumpia and Fuddruckers lovers out there. Dinochick, where did you go to Fuddruckers at, I thought they were pretty much only in San Antonio? "You came in THAT thing? You're braver than I thought." -Princess Leia
