Guys, Trej's got a point. Get messenger and use that for chatting.

I find that Luke has much better uses than diplomacy, being an all around versatille character. As for the Hq pattern, I doubt it but who really knows...

I think considdering how absolutely impractical it deploys sometimes, like right next to Yavin or right next to Corrusant or a million miles from the nearest cantina, I'd guess it's completely random.

Actually my question was where people mostly do their recruiting. It's my theory that a lot of people would stay on Yavin, knowing it's the most unlikely place for you to be at, and within 100 days you can get a lot of characters, right?

don't they install themselves anywhere they can?

Yes, of course, did you think the pub thing was a joke? :P

Yavin IV was their HQ, as was Hoth. So it's just an ultrasecure base, in some remote world so Vader gets endless hours of Where's Luke? [TM] fun.

The Cloud City thing for Rebellion was probably just meant to make it easier to identify, a while ago, though, I changed the CC icon to a Rebel Crest.

But do you guys really think that some planets are better for recruiting than others? :?

None of them seem to be well defended in the beginning when you are playing rebels. A handful of troopers, a couple of fighters and one general (which you would have to get there first), don't seem to offer much protection.

Even when you can defend the planet you would like to be recruiting on with with a fully combined fleet, it still means that the other planets are not defended and then espionage could give away that ALL your characters, Luke, Han and Leia are on that planet recruiting people making it a very attractive target for an imperial invasion fleet, right?

I usually colonize both around Yavin and around the HQ, and leave the Core alone until the AI has at least managed to achieve something there.

I usually proceed as follows:

1. I start colonising around Yavin and the Hq.

2. At the same time I send all the good diplomats from to take possesion of the sluis sector.

3.Then if I already have some good diplomats there I take the Corellian sector.
