Well, I certainly know, which one I like best

But I hope this doesn't deteriorate into a StarTrek Vs StarWars thread, we already had one a long time ago and the discussions were a bit heated

Aside for a few Romulan designs, Star Wars ships look better and are definitely more powerful.

The only Star Trek design I've ever liked is the Defiant, although the Klingon Bird of Prey is pretty cool, too. Other than that, the rest of the ships just plain...well, suck. There ain't nothing more imposing than an Imperial Star Destroyer (well, maybe a SSD or the Death Star ), and as Trej said, they're surely more powerful.

 

Perhaps it's the 'rough edge' Star Wars has, but its ships are much more appealing to me.

Excellant finds Cain! Fascinating stuff. I think Borg cubes are boring and Federation ships look like plates super glued to wierd avant-guard bedside lamps.

 

In 1977 I remember being awestruck as something called a Star Destoyer rumbled over my head. Life changed as we know it for ever...

.... about the ST stuff hmmm... I like Picard and Kirk ... is not their fault that the movie directors were lame and on a low budget.

 

.... the SW ships have also design "real space combat" problems the rebels in general.... and also the imperials The communication tower for ex with the upper dome shields > A stupid design error. All rebels Y-wings go for that thing on an ISD or SSD . The only correction I could do for that was the IND. Imperial Nova Destroyer (Novalex I2WE Integrated shield system)

None of those were by my paws dude, I was in an internet cafe earlier today [whilst not climbing up trees] when I caught up with this thread; a swift search in a few sites later and ... presto!

 

I've not actually seen any ST v SW gifs about, and am hard pressed to think up anything myself! Anyway, my skills with Image Ready are still a bit crap. However, given i'm going to be a student before very long learning all that photoshop woo-har...stay tuned!

where are you ?....also remember to take 4..... 1.4 mb diskets with you and ask the dude at the server where he has a PC with the A/drive functional I'm dyeng to see your opinion ! (Once one PC had no A/drive and when I introduced the diskete she ended in the lower bottom of the PC carcase ...I gues is still there)

Sure they've got a Star Wars mod...I tried it and suffice to say, its screwed up. (The Star Destroyers fire phasers and the like!) I'm working on my own version though...

 

Also all the scales for the ships are screwed up, all the vessels are two big! Yeah their Tie Fighter is about 100 meters long and their star destroyer is just too big.

 

I'm going to agree with you guys that star trek ships are junk comparaded to Star Wars ships. Just think about how slow Voyager is. It'll take them 70 years to cross the galaxy, and it would take Leia and Han less then 70 days.

Star Wars ships are by far better. Imagine what the fighters would do to the Trek ships. Phasers are to slow to keep up with them.

One thing none of our characters seem to do in Star Wars is constantly go on about transflux inter dimensional warp reverse fields when Spock or Picard can't get the coffee machine to work. We keep it nice and simple:

 

'Oooh! But I wanted to go and get some relay converters..'

 

'You can fool around with your friends when you've superglued the landspeederback together...'

 

Anyway lightsabers are much cooler than Vulcan ears...

To know which are better you have to watch Star Wars of course. You will see the Corvette running from the Imperial Star Destroyer. I thought what an awesome ship. Later on when you see the Death Star and saw the fire power to be able to destroy a planet. Now that's what I call a ship. I Don't think the Borg could withstand the might of the Imperial ships. The only people that might be able to put up a fight would be the Klingons or Romulans. The cloaking capability would help in a fight. Another thing too ST doesn't have any fighter ships(unless you count the runabouts). The Tie fighters sound more menacing than the Klingon Warbird. Spartian300 .... ahhh now I see Evaders told you about the letters....don't feel bad dude .... you didn't know .....hmmm just edit your post again and make it with smaller letters

 

SW vs. ST well dudes the vote is 14-0 but imagine a fight with a ISD versus the latest Enterprise . The ISD or SSD will not last long...why ?!...well before they lunch all fighters ..... (which by the way will be easy pray for some cool phasers) ...the Enterprise will scan them and find the weak spot the communication tower with his 2 shield domes. Some quick shots and the SSD will be without shields. (Remember the A-wing kamikaze from the movie....or the Y-Wings run from the Rebellion movies ?). Also the new Enterprise is more maneuverable.

 

Also the boarding capability of a ST ship is greater (teleportation)....imagine a shield fluctuation in the SSD ship and next thing you know....you find your self with a big bomb teleported in the middle of the SSD ship ....

 

I think they don't have fighters in the ST cause they are to weak ....Size/power ratio....

 

I needed to say this cause my mangal SSD's and ISD's are more prepared for such a confrontation, and also I consider teleporting impossible , also in the future.... That is why I considered that from all parallel dimensions Lucas one is the most obsolete in terms of new ships and weapons....that is why they loose so bad against the Vong....and maybe now we will see a major rearmament in the SW with the anticipated defeat of the Vong ....
