Viscount Star Defender

The Viscount Star Defender is a Viscount-class warship of enormous size built by Mon Calamari Shipyards for the Rebel Alliance to confront the largest Imperial capital ships.

Viscount Star Defender is a ship in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the game slot that the original game gives to the Bulwark Battlecruiser, and has that slot's costs and stats.

History

The Viscount marked an important step forward in starship design. It was devised in direct reaction to the rising danger posed by the Galactic Empire, and in particular by its Star Destroyers. Intended to hold its own in big space battles, the class carried heavy weapons and powerful shields, so it could face even the strongest Imperial warships. Its creation showed how the Galactic Civil War was growing in scale and ferocity, while the Rebel Alliance and further factions looked for stronger vessels to dispute Imperial supremacy. During this turbulent era the class helped tip the balance of space combat.

In the game

The patch gives the slot a new name and identity but keeps its stats: a field-by-field comparison with the original game data finds no differences. Everything in the Bulwark Battlecruiser article's stats applies here too.
