Star Galleon Frigate

The Star Galleon Frigate is a heavily armed freighter built by Kuat Drive Yards and used by the Galactic Empire to carry valuable cargo securely.

History

A freighter with strong armament, the Star Galleon served the Galactic Empire when valuable cargo needed safe carriage, namely currency, artifacts and further resources vital to Imperial operations. It joined the sturdy defenses of a military ship to the hold space of a freighter, which made it well suited to risky transport runs. Being able to fend off pirates and other dangers was prized during the unstable Galactic Civil War, when protecting supply lines mattered greatly to both the Empire and the Rebel Alliance. Its design and purpose showed the Empire's need for ships that could handle both fighting and logistics amid widespread conflict.

In the game

The patch gives the slot a new name and identity but keeps its stats: a field-by-field comparison with the original game data finds no differences. Everything in the Star Galleon article's stats applies here too.
