Medium Transport

From Star Wars: Rebellion Wiki Original 1.02 & 25th Anniversary

Medium Transport is an Alliance capital ship in Star Wars: Rebellion. The in-game encyclopedia says these ships carry a great deal of cargo for a length of only 90 meters. Their outer hull is little more than a thick shell, and the inside is mostly open space. They are used to move medicine, food, fuel, spare parts, weapons, raw materials and troops.

In the game

The Medium Transport costs 10 refined material to build and 12 to maintain. It has a fighter capacity of 0 and a troop capacity of 2. Its shield strength is 100.

The infobox values come from the game's data file. Ratings such as hyperdrive and maneuverability are internal numbers that the manual does not explain, so they are best used to compare ships.

In the manual's walkthrough, a medium transport is suggested as a good choice for taking troops to a newly explored system, because it can carry two troop units. The manual's ship table gives the same capacity: 0 fighters and 2 troops.

25th Anniversary patch

The Medium Transport is the GR-75 medium transport, built by Gallofree Yards, Inc. and used by the Rebel Alliance to move troops, supplies and equipment.

Gallofree designed these ships for ordinary commercial freight, but the Rebellion took them over because they could hold a great deal and were easy to modify. They proved vital when Rebel bases had to be abandoned, most famously at Hoth, where they showed how well they suited a rapid pullout. GR-75s were a regular feature of Rebel convoys, carrying the soldiers, provisions and gear that the Alliance needed to survive and operate against the Galactic Empire. A plain, dependable design made them the logistical mainstay of the Rebel fleet.
