Assault Frigate

From Star Wars: Rebellion Wiki Original 1.02 & 25th Anniversary

Assault Frigate is an Alliance capital ship in Star Wars: Rebellion. The in-game encyclopedia calls the assault frigate one of the Rebel Alliance's main front-line warships. Alliance engineers built it on the framework of Old Republic Dreadnaughts. The result is faster and more maneuverable than the original, but keeps the Dreadnaught's weapons.

In the game

The Assault Frigate costs 60 refined material to build and 60 to maintain. It carries no fighters or troops. Its shield strength is 600.

The infobox values come from the game's data file. Ratings such as hyperdrive and maneuverability are internal numbers that the manual does not explain, so they are best used to compare ships.

The manual describes the assault frigate as a key Alliance warship. The manual's ship table gives the same capacity: 0 fighters and 0 troops. It also describes it as a key Alliance warship.

25th Anniversary patch

The Assault Frigate is the Mark I Assault Frigate, a Galactic Republic design adopted and refitted by the Rebel Alliance as a core warship of its navy.

This warship began as a Dreadnaught-class heavy cruiser from Rendili StarDrive, and the Rebel Alliance reworked it extensively. The changes aimed to make it better for fighting the Galactic Empire, and above all after the Death Star's loss at the Battle of Yavin. As the Assault Frigate Mark I, it became a central element of the Rebel naval forces. Strong weapons, good speed and solid shields made it a dangerous adversary for Imperial ships. Its appearances in major battles, and its fitness for many combat duties, highlighted its value to the Alliance's campaign to bring back democracy.
