Yavin Prime
Yavin Prime is an uninhabitable gas giant with no native species. Its only recorded economic output is corusca gems.
Yavin Prime is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Flax.
History
Yavin Prime stayed mostly undisturbed, being a gas giant without solid ground. Its main importance in this period came from lying close to Yavin 4, where the Rebel Alliance had its base. After the Death Star was destroyed, the Empire sought vengeance and made the whole Yavin system the focus of its hunt, Yavin Prime included. Still, the giant's hostile nature and absence of resources meant the wider war touched it little, and it carried on largely unaffected.
In the game
In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Sith Worlds sector; the original game calls it the Sumitra sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
