Yag'Dhul (25th Anniversary patch)
Yag'Dhul is a barren world with oceans, native to the Givin, whose location at a crossing of several hyperspace routes gives it unusual strategic weight.
Yag'Dhul is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Hefi.
History
Yag'Dhul remained strategically valuable because multiple hyperspace routes cross there. As the war between Imperial and Rebel forces grew fiercer, both sides tried to secure the system, recognizing what its location offered. The Givin, skilled in hyperspace technology, were left in an awkward position, trying to steer through shifting politics while protecting their own interests. The system's special place in the galaxy kept it involved in the struggle that followed the decisive battle at the close of the first film.
In the game
In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Mid Rim South sector; the original game calls it the Abrion sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
