Vinsoth (25th Anniversary patch)

Vinsoth is a semi-tropical and temperate world of deserts, grassy plains, mountains and polar ice caps in Mandalorian Space, inhabited by native Chev and Chevin.

Vinsoth is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Ithor.

History

Vinsoth stayed a mostly peaceful, farming world, noted for its unusual and exotic plant life. This calm let its people keep their customary lifestyle with little interference from the galaxy's conflicts. Vinsoth took no direct part in the Rebellion's fight with the Empire, but its rich biodiversity and its promise for scientific study brought in scholars and researchers. The result was a quiet exchange of knowledge with other worlds, which helped protect both its cultural character and its scientific legacy throughout the troubled era.

In the game

In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Mandalorian Space sector; the original game calls it the Calaron sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
