Utapau
Utapau is a temperate world of deserts, grassy plains, rocky terrain and huge sinkholes, home to the native Pau'ans and Utai plus Amani and Sugi, trading in food, technology, chemicals, ores, salts and starships.
Utapau is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Ord Pardon.
History
Utapau, with its sinkholes and rough landscape, goes through a spell of relative calm. Having been the scene of a fierce battle and the death of a well-known cyborg general, the native Pau'ans and Utai worked to rebuild their society and bring back stability. Shifting power and priorities in the galaxy reduced the planet's strategic value as a refueling station. Inhabitants went on using the underground levels of their world, sheltered by the deep sinkholes and caverns that define it.
In the game
In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Outer Rim South sector; the original game calls it the Dufilvan sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
