Thyferra
Thyferra is a tropical world of jungles, forests, mountains, canyons and cave networks, inhabited by native Vratix and Humans, and an important source of food, technology and bacta.
Thyferra is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Hishyim.
History
Thyferra stayed important to the galaxy because it produces bacta, a crucial healing substance. This made the planet a prize that several factions wanted to control, since whoever held it influenced bacta distribution. Two powerful bacta corporations, Zaltin and Xucphra, continued to govern it and competed with each other without mercy. Even amid struggles for power and the wider war, Thyferra kept supplying bacta, which saved countless lives and preserved its significance as events unfolded.
In the game
In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Mid Rim South sector; the original game calls it the Abrion sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
