Smuggler's Run
Smuggler's Run is an asteroid belt frequented by Humans and various aliens. Its economy revolves around contraband, and its dense rocks give cover to those who travel and trade outside the law.
Smuggler's Run is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Poderis.
History
Smuggler's Run remains a vital route for pirates and smugglers, along with other marginal characters trying to stay out of the Empire's reach. Its dense asteroid field and dangerous surroundings gave perfect cover to anyone hiding from Imperial and criminal forces alike. When the fight between the Empire and the Rebel Alliance intensified, traffic along the Run grew, and it became an even more important corridor for moving contraband, illicit merchandise and hidden passengers. The lawless region drew opportunists looking to profit from the chaos and cemented the Run's reputation as a haven for illicit activity.
In the game
In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Bothan Space sector; the original game calls it the Orus sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
