Scarif
Scarif is a tropical world of oceans, rocky archipelagos, sandy beaches, verdant jungles and volcanic islands, inhabited by Humans. Its economy turns on starship construction and supplies for the Death Star.
Scarif is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Ryloth.
History
Scarif lost much of its strategic importance. The Galactic Empire had once depended on it for highly secret research and development, the Death Star project among it. After the Death Star was destroyed, activity dropped as the Empire turned its attention elsewhere. The planet stayed under Imperial control and still hosted military installations and research facilities, and it kept its reputation as a heavily fortified fortress that nobody could breach, which inspired fear and respect among those aware of it.
In the game
In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Bothan Space sector; the original game calls it the Orus sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
