Savareen

Savareen is a world of deserts and oceans, native to the Savarians and also home to Humans. Its economy is known for Savareen brandy.

Savareen is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Stic.

History

Savareen kept its standing as a remote, secluded planet. Long used as a centre for illegal dealings, it went on attracting people wishing to operate beyond Imperial reach. As resistance to the Empire surged across the galaxy, its low profile made it an occasional haven for rebels and other dissenters. Meanwhile the locals worked to endure the harsh surroundings and keep their lifestyle, untouched by the wider conflict and the contest for power around them.

In the game

In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Wild Space sector; the original game calls it the Xappyh sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
