Rhen Var

Rhen Var is a frigid world of glaciers and mountains, native to the Rhen Varites and also home to Humans, a cold and remote planet with no recorded commerce.

Rhen Var is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Boordii.

History

Rhen Var remained a distant, barren and bitterly cold planet. Steeped in the past, it was noted for ancient Jedi ruins and relics that drew archaeologists and historians hoping to uncover their secrets. It held little strategic value, but its seclusion and punishing conditions suited anyone wanting to stay out of sight or carry out covert business. In these years several factions treated it as a short-term base or meeting spot, relying on its distance to escape the notice of the major powers.

In the game

In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Sith Worlds sector; the original game calls it the Sumitra sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
